Story
Born approximately September 12th 2013 Cadence is an energetic female mixed breed. Her too DNA is 23% percent Rottweiler and 11% Pug. (DNA results are posted) She is a medium /large size weighing about 60lbs. Cadence gets along well with other dogs and even cats (the ones currently living in her foster home) she may want to chase new cats until she’s figured them out. She is friendly to most everyone, however young children are not her jam, their squeals of delight and sudden fast movements, scare her and she may nip. Her current foster mom walks her daily and she really enjoys the exercise. She is kennel trained but also does well loose in the home. Cadence would love an active individual or couple who would hike, camp and take her on many adventures. Another canine companion in the home would be an added bonus. One that’s another size for play. She LOVES playing ball but doesn’t like to share the ball 😂 We will give preference to a home with fully fenced yard but an apartment with a well thought out exercise /potty plan might work. If children are living in the home, we ask that they are age 10 and up please.

Story
Meet Bow, a one-and-a-half-year-old Rottie mix weighing 75 pounds.Bow`s story is heartbreaking, but she hasn`t let it define her.She came to animal control after being surrendered from a home where she had gone seven days without food. Investigators also found deceased dogs on the property, making it clear that Bow had endured severe neglect. Despite everything she`s been through, she continues to greet the world—and every person she meets—with an open heart.Bow absolutely loves to have fun and get out for walks. She`s energetic and always ready for her next adventure. Food is definitely the way to her heart, making her highly motivated and eager to learn. It`s obvious she hasn`t had much training or guidance in her life, and so many everyday experiences are still brand new to her. But she`s curious, willing, and excited to discover what life has to offer.Bow is looking for a family that will show her the love, patience, and stability she`s always deserved. She has firm ideas on her boundaries and clearly expresses her feelings if you ask for too much from her. We think a home without kids would be the best fit at this time as she has been through so much and seems uncomfortable with excessive handling. After everything she`s survived, it`s finally Bow`s turn to know what it feels like to be cherished. Could you be the one to give her the happy ending she`s been waiting for? This pet is available for adoption on 6.26.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Hickory is a male German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix November 1, 2021. This handsome boy just graduated from his Basic 1 Dog Training. Hickory lives with and gets along well with other dogs - large and small- as well as dog savvy cats. One of his favorite past times is playing and romping with other dogs of a similar size. He is both potty and crate trained. Hickory knows numerous basic commands including sit, down, stay, off, leave it and wait. Some of these he’s still working on perfecting, but he’s making great strides and when a high value treat is at stake, he usually rises to the occasion! Hickory has been known to chew on something he shouldn’t but with redirection and the command “leave it” he's learning quickly what is off limits. Hickory gets excited and can be a bit vocal in public. He will make a great companion to some person or family. His ideal home would be one where his people are not gone for long periods of time during the day, and one where he has at least one other canine companion. A secure 6 foot fence and children over 5 is required.
