Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cleft Palate & FIV+ Mariska is a quiet gentle soul. She has been able to overcome some big obstacles in her short life. She is quiet and calm, only giving little meows when she sees the wet food coming.  Her eyes are like windows into her past as she makes direct eye contact with you.  You can see the slightly skeptical look that comes from a life hard lived. Once you gain her trust she is very affectionate with an amazing purr that speaks louder than words about how much she appreciates the gentle touch. She would prefer a quieter home with a loving adopter who will continue to smoother her in the affection she craves. Upon first glance you will notice Mariska is missing many of her front teeth and has a malformed upper lip. Our vets believe she may have a congenital abnormality such as a cleft palate, but it may also be an older facial injury. She has adapted quite well and is able to eat/drink without issue, but she does so slowly and thus requires separate feedings to ensure she gets proper nutrition. Mariska is also FIV positive and requires a home where she can be the one-and-only or can join other FIV positive cats (check out Oreo's profile!). You can read more about FIV here: https://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/infectious-parasitic/c_ct_feline_immunodeficiency_virus_infection *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Story
Spooky & Ghost are a bonded pair. They are both male and neutered. Spooky just turned 5 years old and is the "teenager" of the pair. He is super smart and instinctive, but also super sweet. He's not the biggest cuddler but loves to be brushed and pet. If he's calm and relaxed, he doesn't mind being held. I will sometimes pick him up and walk around with him so he can look out of the windows. He's usually purring and enjoys it. Spooky is one of the smartest cats I know. He definitely knows how to get what he wants. He once unplugged by tower fan from the wall when I didn't wake up on time to feed them. Ghost is almost 3 years old and is the most gentle, sweet baby. His meows are soft, and he makes cute little noises when he runs. He is cuddly but isn't fond of being held.
