Story
Hi there, I’m Snowy! I’m a young pup with a soft heart, and here is a little info about me:
I was just a small puppy when I was left alone on the streets of Beirut. At first, I didn’t understand danger — I thought life was all about playing, exploring, and greeting everyone with a wagging tail. But the streets were not safe for me. I could have easily been hurt, poisoned, hit by a car, or mistreated by people who don’t care about animals.
Then a kind lady found me. She had never owned a dog before and had no experience with animals, but she couldn’t leave me behind. She brought me into her care and gave me safety, food, vaccinations, and made sure I was spayed so I could stay healthy.
Life in Lebanon is unstable, and my rescuer often has to move between homes and cannot always keep me with her. Some places do not accept dogs, so my situation has always been uncertain. Now, I am living in a boarding shelter, waiting patiently for my chance to finally have a forever home in Canada where I can feel safe and loved.
I am friendly, affectionate, playful, gentle, and social. I love being around people and children, and I get along very well with other dogs. I am curious, loving, and always happy to interact and bond with humans.
I would thrive in a caring and stable home where I can grow up surrounded by love, attention, and patience. A family that enjoys spending time with a young, active, and affectionate dog would be ideal for me.

Fears: None observed so far. I am still young and learning about the world, so I may need patience and reassurance as I adjust to new environments. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.
Training: I have some basic early training for my age and am still learning. I am smart and willing to learn with consistent guidance.
Leash skills: Yes, some. I will need continued training and support.
House trained: Partially / still learning. I will need help understanding where to go in my new home.
Health notes: No known health issues. I am healthy, active, and growing well. I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.

Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee.
[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.
[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper.
