~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later. Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: She was successfully treated for Heartworms. ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam Temperament: If you’re looking for a happy-go-lucky companion who greets every day with excitement, Dahlia may be your perfect match! This beautiful girl has never met a stranger. Whether she’s welcoming you home with her signature smile or making new friends on a walk, Dahlia’s joyful personality is simply contagious. Dahlia has a moderate energy level and loves getting out for daily walks or hopping in the car for an adventure. She’s always ready to explore the world with her people. At home, she enjoys a good game of tug-of-war and is just as happy entertaining herself with her favorite stuffed squeaky toys. âShe gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion, although she’d also be happy soaking up all of your attention. She is great with children, friendly with strangers, and her compatibility with cats is currently unknown. Dahlia is a well-mannered girl who is house-trained, uses a doggy door, is crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, comes when called, and rides beautifully in the car. She’s currently learning her basic commands and is eager to continue learning with her forever family. A securely fenced yard would be ideal so she has a safe place to stretch her legs and enjoy the outdoors. Dahlia is fully vaccinated, microchipped, on heartworm and flea prevention, and takes no daily medications. When she came into rescue, she tested high positive for heartworms, but she successfully completed treatment and recovered beautifully. She is also blind in her left eye due to previous trauma, as confirmed by an eye specialist. It doesn’t slow her down one bit, and she navigates life with confidence and enthusiasm. One of Dahlia’s sweetest quirks is that she’ll “talk” to you when she’s excited—especially when it’s mealtime or when you come home. It’s her adorable way of sharing just how happy she is to see you! Her favorite things include stuffed squeaky toys, tug-of-war, tasty treats (she’s not picky!), long walks, and being pampered with grooming sessions. Dahlia is ready to leave her past behind and start the next chapter of her life with a family who will cherish her for the amazing dog she is.
