Story
Meet Ansel! Ansel’s journey is one of resilience and transformation. This sweet 10-year-old, 20 lb. gentleman was found as a stray in Los Angeles in heartbreaking condition—battling skin and ear infections, dental disease, and a host of other medical issues. He was designated “rescue only” at the Chesterfield Square Shelter, and we knew we had to act. Now a proud Frosted Face, Ansel has been lovingly nursed back to health in a foster home with an amazing member of our veterinary team. After recovering from surgery to remove masses, and receiving lots of TLC and good meals, Ansel is feeling great and is ready to find his forever home! What makes Ansel special: Super sweet and gentle Gets along great with other dogs Passed his cat test like a pro! Eats well & has great house manners LOVES attention and companionship His transformation is incredible—check out his before & after photos! Ansel is the perfect low-key companion for someone who appreciates the quiet love of a senior pup. He’s ready to share a comfy couch with his forever family. Might that be you? Story
Zuni was surrendered to the San Diego Humane Society because her guardian was moving and couldn't take her along. She is 13 years old, weighs 16 lbs., and is very sweet and friendly. Zuni has been living in a Foster home for several months, and we have learned a lot about her. Here's the scoop from her foster mom: Zuni is a gentle soul who is calm, affectionate, and loves everyone she meets. She enjoys the simple pleasures in life - short strolls, cozy naps, and soaking up sunshine. She loves attention and being petted and doesn’t mind being picked up. Zuni enjoys leisurely walks around the apartment complex where her foster mom lives and going for car rides on special outings, like a pup cup run to Dutch Bros (one of her favorite treats!). At home, she’s content to relax and nap, making her a very low-maintenance and easygoing companion. Zuni was the only pet in her previous home but is mellow and non-reactive around other dogs. She grew up alongside three children and was always patient, tolerant, and loving with no issues. She is also comfortable with grooming, brushing, and baths. When Zuni is home alone, her foster mom checks in on the camera and almost always finds Zuni peacefully snoozing in bed. She would do best in a one-story home, as she is unable to climb stairs. If you’re looking for a loving, gentle, and relaxed companion to share your life with, Zuni may be the perfect match. Story
Birtie was surrendered by her family of 14 years because they were moving and couldn't take her with them. They shared that Birtie was a sweet girl who was loving and patient with their children and a great buddy to their dog who passed away in 2025. Birtie went on a Frosted Field Trip to soak up lots of love with one of our foster families while we learned more about her in a home environment. Her foster mom shared: "Birtie is a very mellow, very cuddly sweetheart! We took her to a restaurant to enjoy the football game with family, and she lasted in a stroller until we finished eating. She slept through the night in bed with my husband and me. She laid her head on my chest a few times throughout the night - it was the sweetest." Birtie currently lives in a Foster home while she waits for her forever family. Might that be you? To meet sweet Birtie, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
Bentley is a 15-year-old sweetheart who deserves love, comfort, and companionship in his golden years. He was surrendered to FFF in late October 2025 after struggling to adjust when three children joined his family in his senior years. As Bentley grew older, he found himself spending most of his time outdoors. His owners reached out for help, hoping Bentley could have a better quality of life - one where he felt included and loved. When Bentley arrived at FFF, he was friendly, outgoing, and eager for affection. It came as no surprise that this sweet, adorable boy was adopted quickly after becoming a Frosted Face. Sadly, his new dad passed away unexpectedly just two months later, and Bentley was returned to our care through no fault of his own. Bentley went on a two-week Frosted Fling for extra love and care in the comfort of a home. His foster mom shared that he loved going for frequent walks - enjoying about four walks a day and was great on leash. Bentley also loved joining his foster mom on outings, including trips to the store and to the pier. Bentley answered to his name and reliably responded to “come" when called into the house from the backyard. Bentley enjoyed tasty treats like chicken and turkey, though he wasn’t especially treat-motivated otherwise. His foster mom noted that Bentley was very sweet, although understandably nervous in a new setting after losing his dad. We are hoping Bentley's next chapter is the one that lasts forever. He’s ready to give his heart again—could it be to you? To meet Bentley, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
Diggy came to us from the San Diego Humane Society on December 29th. He is 12 years old, weighs 17 lbs., and is super sweet. He enjoys playing with toys and going on our weekly Sunday hikes. He has plenty of pep and good stamina, and he happily trots along for an hour! Diggy is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about him while he enjoys being in the comfort of a home. His foster mom reports: "Diggy has such a gentle, easygoing temperament. He enjoys sunbathing, going for walks, and riding in the car. He is very gentle with other dogs, cats, and humans. He also loves to play. Diggy has a healthy appetite and sleeps soundly through the night. He sprints to the door to let us know when nature calls. We do have him wearing a band for possible accidents since he has only been with us for a week. Diggy tolerates warm baths with only a tiny, soft whine. He is a sweet, laid back pup, unfazed by the occasional drama performed by our dog." Check back soon for the next update! To meet Diggy, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
