Story
Ellie - ID# 19868 - Kennel #321 - Arrived June 11th - Terrier Mix - Cream and Grey - Female - 9 Years Old - 21 lbs - Spayed - Up to Date on Vaccines - Heartworm Negative
Ellie is a nine-year-old cream and grey Terrier mix with a soft, scruffy coat, warm brown eyes, and the kind of calm, loving presence that makes a house feel instantly more peaceful. She arrived at Cobb Animal Services on June 11th when a new baby came into what she thought was her family. Through no fault of her own this precious, gentle girl is now waiting for a new place to belong. She is nine years old and she is wonderful, and she deserves so much better than a shelter kennel.
Ellie sits nicely for treats and walks beautifully on a leash - a well mannered, easygoing girl who has been described as calm and loving, and who carries herself with the quiet grace of a dog who has always known how to be good company. At 21 lbs she is a comfortable, portable size that works beautifully in almost any living situation.
There is a particular injustice in a nine-year-old dog - gentle, well mannered, and full of love - finding herself in a shelter after a lifetime of being somebody's companion. Ellie did not choose this. She simply found herself on the wrong side of a life change, and she deserves someone who will choose her right back.
Senior dogs like Ellie give back in ways that are impossible to fully put into words. She is not a project or a question mark - she is a calm, loving, precious girl who knows exactly how to be a wonderful companion. She is waiting in Kennel #321 with those warm eyes and that soft scruffy face, ready for the person who will give her the quiet, loving home she so deeply deserves. Come meet her - she will steal your heart before you even make it through the door.
