Story
Approximate Age: 4 years Approximate Weight: 32 lbs ● One of 101 dogs saved from a hoarding situation; may need extra time to build confidence and feel secure. ● Learning about basic skills, leash walking, and indoor living after being rescued. ● Will thrive with a patient adopter who understands decompression and a slow, supported transition. ———————————————————— Hi I’m Daenerys! I’m a super sweet, very snuggly girl who just wants to be loved. 💖 I can be a little shy at first, but give me a day and my true personality comes out! Once I warmed up, I started playing with my foster dog sibling and showing off my fun side. 🎾🐕 🐾 I do great with other dogs and cats 🏡 Once I feel comfortable in my space, I settle nicely in my crate (the first night was noisy, but I figured it out!) 🚽 I’ve had excellent potty manners since my first day in foster I’m learning that the world isn’t so scary after all—and I’m ready to keep blossoming in a loving forever home. 🌸💕 You can still come adopt me or even join our foster program to help the humans learn all the awesome things about new dogs like me! Story
Current Location: Hanover, PA Meet Lolly: A Gentle Soul with the Perfect Balance There are some dogs who just feel right from the moment they walk into your home, and Lolly is one of those special girls. This poodle mix has a gentleness and sweet disposition that makes her an absolute joy to be around. She's found that magical balance between youthful enthusiasm and calm companionship that so many families dream of. Lolly is young enough to still delight in life's simple pleasures: a nice walk around the neighborhood, chasing a ball in the backyard, exploring the world with you by her side. But she's also wonderfully chill and calm when it's time to relax, content to simply be near you as the day winds down. She doesn't need a crate at night and settles in beautifully, though she's shown she can handle being crated when necessary (even if she'd rather not). She's doing well on the leash and is ready to continue her education in meeting new dogs and people. When she does spot another pup, her excitement bubbles up, a sign of her friendly, social nature just waiting to blossom with proper introductions and continued socialization. Lolly is still getting her bearings in this new chapter of her life, but her foster family can already see what a wonderful companion she'll be. She needs a family who will appreciate her gentle spirit, continue her training journey, and give her the love and stability she deserves. If you're looking for a dog who brings joy without drama, sweetness without demand, and just the right amount of playfulness mixed with peace, Lolly might be your perfect match.

Story
Lyle is an absolute sweetheart with a huge heart and so much love to give. When he bonds, he bonds deeply—he’s a true velcro dog who wants to be near his people and LOVES to cuddle. Lyle would do best in a calmer, low-traffic home, ideally with another confident dog who can help show him the ropes. He has lived a life full of neglect—about 3 years old and spent nearly all of that in an outdoor kennel. Despite his rough start, he is incredibly smart and has already mastered crate training! He is a small guy, only about 26 lbs fully grown. When he arrived, he was severely matted and needed to be shaved down to the skin, but his coat will grow back beautifully. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and tries to play with them on occasion. He is still learning what toys are—he may have never had any before. He gets along well with the cats in his foster home and he is very gentle. He is mostly calm and enjoys sun bathing in the sun or any light that drifts in from the window. He does NOT like the cold and seems to enjoy wearing clothes. Lyle needs an adult only home. He can be very cautious when meeting new people, so anyone who meets him will need to understand that he needs time to adjust and patience. Lyle deserves a gentle, loving family who will give him the happy ending he’s waited his whole life for. This is rescue! He is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms. He has an appointment at Blue Ridge Vet in Purceville, VA on 1/15/26. If you are interested in adopting there is an application below! This is the first step. We do not schedule meet and greets without an approved application. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PDAR/Dog 98% of our adoptables come from out of state. There are higher fees associated as we have to pay to have the animals transported. We are a non-profit rescue. Any access revenue made is used to care for animals with additional medical expenditures that would otherwise result in adoptable dogs having to be left behind and euthanized.

Story
Meet Nyx is a Cannoodle (Cane Corso + Labradoodle = pure magic). Nyx is a pro-level snuggle bug, melting into your lap like butter on a biscuit, but don’t think she’s clingy, she’s also a card-carrying member of the doggy social club. She adores hanging with her canine crew and is absolutely “one of the pack.” And cats? Please. She gets along just fine with them… though her foster mom’s cats are basically small lions (three Maine Coons and one normal-sized cat just trying to survive in their shadow). She’s got those subtle brindle streaks that scream “luxury,” the playfulness to turn any room into a rom-com chase scene, and the chill factor to lounge like a queen who’s waiting for her grapes to be peeled. Because Nyx has some anxiety, we are currently only considering applications that have a suitable canine companion in the home who could be a good dog-mentor for her. Questions About this Animal?
