Danny is a natural extrovert, outgoing and friendly - which works out well, because he's so cutely scruffy that everybody wants to meet him! He walked well on the leash today and sat nicely for treats (which he *thoroughly* enjoyed.) Meet Nyx is a Cannoodle (Cane Corso + Labradoodle = pure magic). Nyx is a pro-level snuggle bug, melting into your lap like butter on a biscuit, but don’t think she’s clingy, she’s also a card-carrying member of the doggy social club. She adores hanging with her canine crew and is absolutely “one of the pack.” And cats? Please. She gets along just fine with them… though her foster mom’s cats are basically small lions (three Maine Coons and one normal-sized cat just trying to survive in their shadow). She’s got those subtle brindle streaks that scream “luxury,” the playfulness to turn any room into a rom-com chase scene, and the chill factor to lounge like a queen who’s waiting for her grapes to be peeled. Story

Lyle is an absolute sweetheart with a huge heart and so much love to give. When he bonds, he bonds deeply—he’s a true velcro dog who wants to be near his people and LOVES to cuddle. Lyle would do best in a calmer, low-traffic home, ideally with another confident dog who can help show him the ropes. He has lived a life full of neglect—about 3 years old and spent nearly all of that in an outdoor kennel. Despite his rough start, he is incredibly smart and has already mastered crate training! He is a small guy, only about 26 lbs fully grown. When he arrived, he was severely matted and needed to be shaved down to the skin, but his coat will grow back beautifully. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and tries to play with them on occasion. He is still learning what toys are—he may have never had any before. He gets along well with the cats in his foster home and he is very gentle. He is mostly calm and enjoys sun bathing in the sun or any light that drifts in from the window. He does NOT like the cold and seems to enjoy wearing clothes. Lyle needs an adult only home. He can be very cautious when meeting new people, so anyone who meets him will need to understand that he needs time to adjust and patience. Lyle deserves a gentle, loving family who will give him the happy ending he’s waited his whole life for. This is rescue! He is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms. He has an appointment at Blue Ridge Vet in Purceville, VA on 1/15/26. If you are interested in adopting there is an application below! This is the first step. Meet Carter! This adorable little Poodle pup was found as a stray and taken in by a Good Samaritan who reached out to our rescue for help. He was unneutered and treated for ear infections and a UTI, but is otherwise a healthy boy. His coat was a bit unkempt at first, but after a full groom, his fluffy white curls look healthy and full again. Carter was originally fostered in NC with two small senior dogs. Like many pups, he needed a little time to settle in and find his place in the pack, but he coexisted well with the other dogs. He’s more dominant than submissive and was initially a bit protective of affection and toys, but once he adjusted, and especially after being neutered, he relaxed significantly. He arrived on transport 12/6 and has settled quickly into his local foster home. He’s loving life as an only dog and bonded instantly with his foster parents, Neha and Salil. Carter is a confident, cuddly, affectionate boy and a total people-lover. He wants to be right by your side and happily snuggles in bed at night. He’s friendly with everyone he meets! He’s been around a 6-year-old and did great, but because he gets a little jumpy with excitement, we think he’s best with kids 7+. He is housetrained and crate-trained, and is crated when left alone. He’s not a huge crate fan, but he settles better crated than loose in a new environment. A flexible schedule would be a big plus as he transitions into a new home. If you’re looking for a best friend who follows you everywhere—to the couch, the dinner table, the bed, or even the bathroom, Carter is your guy. He enjoys his daily walks (pulls a bit but overall good!), rides nicely in the car, loves toys, and will happily entertain himself. He’s eager to please and already knows “sit,” and is working on “come.” Neha shares: “He’s a total sweetheart with all people, rarely barks, and is an expert snuggler.
