Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi.  My name is Lilly and I am a special girl.  I came to A Doggie 4 You as a feral girl in 2018.  I was trapped on the streets of San Antonio.   When I went to the vet they determined I had heartworms.  I thought I was a goner, but the nice people at the rescue treated me like I was part of a real family.  They treated my heartworms and now I don't have them anymore.  They even put me on a yearly heartworm preventative called ProHeart 12.  The people at the rescue didn't have a clue what my breed was, so they took my picture and ran it through something they call a program.  It said I am Berger Picard  81% and Scottish Terrier 12%.   I was a real little stinker when I got here.  You see I had never been  handled before and I didn't know what kindness was.  It's not easy living on the streets.  Not everyone is nice.  It took awhile, but I learned to trust the gang here at the rescue.  I love going to the play yard with all of my friends and playing.  We get to play twice a day in a large group of over 30 dogs.  The rest of the time I get to live with my doggie family.  I even learned to use a doggy door.  I let my foster momma groom me when my hair gets unruly.  I even tolerate the bath.   I am going to need a family that will go slow with me and let me get to know you.  I have a lot of love to give but I have trust issues.  If you would like to give a girl like me a good home, you can apply for  me at www.adoggie4you.org.  I was born around 05/30/2016 and I currently weigh 27.8 pounds.   I am only available in Texas.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2026, 4:52 pm

Where does he sleep? He sleeps in his kennel. Meet Steve Steve is a gentle, tender-hearted boy with so much love to give. He may be a little shy at first, but with just a bit of patience and kindness, he quickly begins to open up—and when he does, it’s truly special. Once he feels safe, Steve becomes incredibly affectionate and loyal. He loves being close to his people, soaking up attention, and quietly keeping you company. His soft nature and sweet personality make him a deeply rewarding companion. Steve enjoys the company of other dogs and loves to play, but he’s just as happy relaxing by your side. He walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and is ready to be part of everyday life—whether that’s going for walks or enjoying a calm day at home. He’s simply looking for someone willing to give him a little time in the beginning—and in return, he’ll give you his whole heart. Steve’s Ideal Home Steve would thrive in a calm, patient home that allows him to settle in at his own pace. With love and reassurance, he blossoms into a devoted and affectionate companion. His ideal home includes: A quiet, stable environment A patient adopter committed to helping him continue building confidence Older, respectful children A steady routine Another friendly, confident dog (a bonus, but not required) Once he feels safe, Steve forms a deep bond and becomes incredibly loyal. He’s the kind of dog who may start off a little reserved, but quickly becomes your constant, loving companion. Steve’s Rescue Story Steve is one of 11 dogs rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. His former owner, a young man struggling with addiction, had accumulated 22 dogs without the ability to properly care for them. When his family discovered the situation, they stepped in and reached out for help. Together, we created a plan—taking in 11 of the dogs while the family worked to rehome the others. When Steve first arrived, he was shy, unsure, and deeply affected by his past. Like many dogs from hoarding environments, he needed time, patience, and consistent love to begin healing. Over the past year and a half, Steve has slowly but beautifully transformed. He’s built trust, gained confidence, and learned what it means to feel safe. Now, he’s ready. Ready for a family, for love, and for a place to finally call home. Like his siblings who have already found their happy endings, Steve is waiting for his chance at a new life in the Pacific Northwest. Location: Steve is currently in Mexico and ready to travel once a committed trial family is found Interested in Steve?Apply at: www.northwestwagrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $600 Give Steve the chance he’s been waiting for—and gain a loyal, loving best friend for life. ##2701754##

Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org ✨ Meet Millie ✨ female - 4 months -19lbs (approximately 40ish lbs grown) - schnauzer/patterdale mix If adorableness were a graded subject, Millie would be your class valedictorian, student body president, and teacher’s favorite… all rolled into one. At just 4–4½ months old and 19 pounds, this Schnauzer/Patterdale Terrier mix is basically a tiny, wiggly bundle of joy with a face that could end arguments, win elections, and absolutely get away with stealing your socks (which… she might do). She does great with people and other dogs. Cats are unknown but at her tender age, if properly introduced, she should do just fine. Millie is everything you expect from a puppy—playful, affectionate, curious, and just the right amount of chaos to keep life interesting. She comes fully equipped with daily zoomies, surprise “what’s in my mouth?” moments, and enough personality to keep you laughing 24/7. 💛 Current hobbies include: – Wiggling directly into your arms without warning – Collecting random “treasures” (leaves, toys, possibly your shoe) – Making you laugh at least 12 times a day – Perfecting her “I’m too cute to be in trouble” face She’s still learning the ropes—leash training is on the to-do list, and as a young pup, she’ll need guidance, patience, and a sense of humor (trust us, you’ll need it… in the best way). But here’s the thing about Millie… underneath all the puppy shenanigans is a very loving little girl who just wants to be close to her people. It only takes a snap of the fingers before she has wiggled her way into your arms… and permanently into your heart. She’s the kind of dog who turns ordinary days into something brighter, sillier, and a whole lot more fun. Apply today at haydudeequine.org if you’re ready for laughter, love, and a lifetime of “did she really just do that?” moments—cuz Millie is ready to be your new bestest friend!! 💕
