***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal.
As per usual it seems these days that the call was put out for the need from commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of Omaha. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. But despite where they lived & were going to be used to make money off their backs, they are always the most precious bundles of joy. Petunia’s life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. She was one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued Pink & 7 other baby dolls. 4 of those were possibly her siblings.
Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Pink how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as she is in her foster home.
Pink, her siblings & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home.
Pink foster mum & dad said, don’t let this cute little face fool you. She thinks she is a big dog in a little body. This girl is not shy & likes to think she is the boss. Especially when it comes to food. Absolutely obsessed with food. This carin girl is so sweet though & her foster mum gives her kisses & she soaks it all up. She is obsessed with her foster dad & is quite demanding with him. She is a sweetheart though & loves her toys & can get up to puppy mischief. She does love her foster siblings & running & chasing them & playing with them so she definitely needs a younger dog in the home. She said she adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. But can also be very independent & be a talker when she wants something from you.
The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside.
Pink is a wonderful eater & is not shy about eating & has not been since the day we got her & her foster family took her home. In her foster home she eats clean, meaning fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins & supplements. She is obsessed with her food & treats.
She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. She will also want to sleep in bed with you or with her dog friends snuggled up.
She is such a fun puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She loves everyone & is very spirited shall we say.
She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. She is a puppy & we have not taken her out anywhere. She still needs to learn her puppy manners.
Pink rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home with her foster family & to & from the vets. It’s still all new to her though. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Pink as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Pink where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. She is now good with her baths & being dried by the hairdryer.
Pink is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her.
Pink has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in her foster home & she is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home roughly the same size for her to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard.
Petunia is roughly 5.5 lbs & he is 5 months old & a carin terrier. She has put on weight since being in her loving foster home. What she is mixed with we are not sure, female, she will be spayed by laser by our wonderful vets, she is microchipped, receive her last shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed all under contract with ASTR by 6 months of age.
We have spent far more on Pink with paying for her from a commercial breeder. Bringing her to WA with her travel/flight costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA etc & bringing him to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Her adoption fee does not even cover half of what we have spent on this little lady.
Pink has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not her around small children so we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.
We were not there when Pink was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Pink’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Pink potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.
We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Pink & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Pink who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Harriet.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Pink has an adoption fee of $1850 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
