Story
Nothing gloomy about this grey (and white) Skye! Skye is a Scottish Fold that arrived at EHS after being surrendered along with seven of her siblings (two litters) when their owner could no longer provide all the care that they required. We are hoping to see this bright and beautiful Scottish lass find a loving fur-ever home, just over the horizon!ABOUT SKYE - In foster - Skye is a chatty girl especially when she is wondering where her food is!- And speaking of food, her foster has noticed that Skye does not like to dine alone. She prefers company while she eats.- She has already mastered the disapproving stare in case you needed that in your life, but it may just be for appearances. Sweet Skye also has the cute look perfected as well!- This clever cat currently fills the role of “keeping everyone on task” in her foster home. She has a comfortable bed conveniently attached to the top of her foster’s desk where Skye can keep a close eye on everything. This is when her disapproving stare is useful—it’s like having your boss watch you work, so no temptation to slack off!- Skye doesn’t run around the same as a lot of kittens her age, but she enjoys playing with a wand toy from the comfort of her bed.- She doesn’t mind being pet, but doesn’t always love it. However, Skye cannot resist a good cheek scratch. She loves those!- Potential adopters should be aware that the genetic mutation responsible for a Scottish Fold`s distinct ears, also puts it at risk for joint and bone disease. Skye’s family will need to monitor her health, weight, and mobility, schedule regular veterinary check-ups, and prepare for future medical costs that will come over time.- Skye is already showing signs of limb and joint changes. Our vets think she has adjusted to these changes and is not in pain. - Skye will be spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.SKYE’S IDEAL HOME- This breed is known for their calm, easy-going personality. They are usually friendly and sociable cats (Skye is no exception) that enjoy spending time with their people, so she would likely be happiest in a home where there is often someone around. - Skye has always lived with other cats so far, so she would probably appreciate a cat companion, but she would also be fine as a solo cat providing she is receiving enough attention from her human companions.- This gentle girl may need to be handled with a bit more care than most other cats, so she is not likely an ideal pet for a home with small children.- She has had no exposure to dogs, so we do not know how she would do with them for now.- We are only considering applications for Skye that include a vet reference in the applicant’s name.Might you be the silver lining that this beautiful Skye is waiting for? If so, apply to adopt her today! If you have any questions about Skye or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com
