Story
Chester is a sweetie pie! His 38lbs are entirely made of velvet and cuddles. He is doing wonderfully in his weekend visit out of shelter. I wasn’t sure I had it in me to manage puppy energy, but this guy is EASY! Here’s what I can share so far about him: ?? Housebroken! He does his business on command and immediately when taken outside! No accidents at all. He is able to go all night and at least 7 hours during the day (I didn`t try to go longer) without a potty break. ?? Doing exceptionally well with my kids (youngest is a high-energy 9-year-old). Seems to take everything in stride and has been LOVING their attention. ?? Not a barker. He does verbalize here and there, but very politely. We had a car engine revving nearby last night and our resident dog and neighbor dogs have been on and off very bark-y, but Chester was chill through all of it. ?? Does great in the car. No complaints from him, but does need some assistance in and out because he’s a little sore (he has some injuries on his tummy, too). ?? Very easy on a leash! Chester seems to regularly look to his person to take the lead. I’ve also taken him in our big backyard with and without leash and he is interested in exploring, but also keeps an eye on me and doesn’t go far.?? Not sure how he does with other animals as we don’t introduce our fosters to resident pets right away. However, when I picked him up at the PACC clinic he was appropriately interested in the other patients from a distance, yet polite. He did spot our senior 60lb resident dog through the window a few times at our home and had a similar response— interested, but didn’t approach and no overt signs of irritation or distress. Seems non-reactive. ?? Eating habits— about as low maintenance as could be. Eating great! Takes treats with SUCH a gentle mouth. No sign of resource guarding around people. As for meds, I just packed them in a little wet food and he gobbled them up with the rest of his food. Easy peasy. Zero fuss. ?? Most importantly, this guy has a lot of love to give. He loves snuggles. He will ask for them at times with a soft nuzzle and welcomes opportunities to be close. Loves to be a feet warmer or to bury his head in the crook of his person’s arm or leg. He’s really good at making people feel loved and appreciated. Give him a little rub between his eyebrows and he leans in for snuggles.

Story
The fictional Scooby Doo is a loyal, fun, treat-loving, light-hearted pup who loves to join his friends on adventures. Our Scooby actually shares all of these qualities! Shelter volunteers LOVE him- here’s what a few have had to say about this excellent boy:“It was my first time walking Scooby today, and he is a joy to walk! He is goofy and easygoing; he knows “sit” and “touch.” He was a loose-leash walker after going potty. Scooby started with lots of energy and seemed like he wanted to run but slowed down about halfway through.”“Scooby is a gentle giant! He is calm and relaxed in his kennel. He sat very nicely for me to leash him up and take him to a play yard. Once in the yard he was calm and gentle, going potty and then standing next to me, seeking affection. He took treats gently and is an overall calm, sweet, mellow guy!”“Scooby is such a good walker! He is the sweetest pup! We walked for about an hour around both lakes. He is a treat hound. Every time I asked if he wanted cookies, he would sit and wait politely. He loves pets and is such a quiet, polite dog!”In a former home Scooby was reported to be good with young children and small dogs, and house trained. In a shirt term foster home Scooby again did great with kiddos, was great on leash, and enjoyed playing with squeaky toys and stuffed animals. Scooby will benefit from crate training and is looking for a future home with no livestock. He’d like to meet ay resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Scooby may be scratching his head, saying,“Ruh-roh” as he wonders when his furever family will come for him. Can you help him solve this mystery today?

Story
Cherrybell is a lovely old lady who is looking for a retirement home! At her age, she isn’t asking for much- just a soft place to nap, some slow walks with her humans, and lots of love! Cherrybell spent a whole year in foster- here’s what we learned:- She did well with small and large dogs- She was housebroken and well- behaved when left home alone- She walks well on leash and likes car rides- She is an affectionate couch potato“Cherrybell is a love bug. She wants to be where her person is. She loves to eat, sleep, and get belly rubs. She is not much for playtime; she enjoys a slower paced simple life.”And here’s what one of Cherrybell’s friends at the shelter said:“This easygoing, well-mannered butterball is a favorite of everyone who meets her. Her needs are pretty simple- she mainly likes some cuddling, a few short walks, a soft place to snuggle, and plenty of treats. She’s friendly, happy, mild-mannered, affectionate and craves human companionship. She is a total LOVE BUG! She`s also smart and food motivated - she eagerly sits for treats and takes them gently and patiently. She’s easy to leash and enjoys going for easy strolls. If you’re looking to be loved unconditionally and want to be the center of someone’s affection, Cherrybell is the one for you!”Cherrybell has some old lady lumps and bumps and could stand to lose a few pounds (who couldn’t!?), so we’d love to see her in a home where she’ll be comfortable and where her health will be monitored. The shelter just isn’t a great place for a senior sweetheart like Cherrybell!Cherrybell shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She’s looking for a home without livestock or cats. Please ask about this deserving old gal today!!

Story
Hey there, my beautiful peeps! My name is Ron and I’m on the lookout for my forever home. Just wait ‘til you hear all about me! Then join the throngs of peeps waitin’ in line to meet me! First off, I’m the most handsomest stud muffin you’ve ever set your eyes on. Trust me. Adorbs. I’m a sleek, shiny black gentleman with the most wicked-cool white spots strategically positioned on my gorgeous chest and the tips of my tippy toes. If my “I wuv you so much” eyes don’t make you instantly fall in love with me, my cute little flip-floppy ears and smoosh face will leave you completely gobsmacked! Whad I tell ya’? Adorbs.I’m a fairly young dude and am the perfect combo of gentle, laid-back couch potato and medium energy doggo. Like, if you wanna’ hang out on the sofa and give me lots of pets and cuddles, I’m all over that. I’ll even lay my head in your lap. How cute is that? Some peeps have said I’m a Velcro dog (whatever that means); all I know is hanging out with hoomans is like my favoritest thang evah! I’m a friendly gentleman and will give little tail wags when I meet new doggos and peeps. I get along with most doggies and would love a doggie brother or sister if you already have one! I am very curious about those kitty-cat creatures, maybe too curious, if you know what I mean, so it’s probably best if you didn’t have any of those in your house. I enjoy a good long walk and like doing some zoomies around the back yard. I’m used to being outside but I know not to go potty in the house and know all about those doggie doors. I’m learning all about “inside things” and some are very, very strange. Like, there’s this black box that has pictures and movies on it that is just so interesting. I try to figure it out by staring at it and tilting my head back and forth, but it’s still a mystery to me. Like, what the heck? Then there’s this other weird thing that’s like a big floor sucking machine that makes noise and just confuses the heck outta’ me. I’m not quite sure how to get up on the couch or the bed by myself so if you don’t want me there, you’ve got no worries. Built in compliance! But if you do, I’m down for learning all about that!I’m good on the leash and will walk with you like a good boy. I know what “sit” means, especially if you have a treat in your hand. I also know what “No” means and I’ll stop doing whatever it is that I’m doing when you say it. I’m not crazy about being left alone but give me a chewy and I can entertain myself fo

Story
Amelia is our resident squishy squishmallow and she’s ready to squeeze her way into your heart!! Amelia came to the shelter as a stray and was quickly adopted; however, she was immediately introduced to the resident cats (dog/cat intros should always be slow and controlled), and she said “no thank you!” So, Amelia is back on the hunt for a kitty free home! Amelia also spent about a month in a foster home- here’s what we learned:- She’s a quiet houseguest overall- She is well- behaved when left alone (but don’t leave food out if you want it for later!)- She his housebroken and did well in a crate - She LOVES getting pets- Her favorite toys are the squeaky kind - She quickly learned ‘sit’ and ‘lay down’Amelia is a day trip superstar too- she spent a day away from the shelter getting a bath, meeting new people, and getting all the belly rubs she could. She did well in the car, seemed to be housebroken, and was a mellow couch potato overall. “Amelia loves people and just wants to please them. She loves a good belly rub! She gets the zoomies and enjoys a good game of chase. She also slept in a crate and had no accidents.”Here’s what one volunteer at the shelter said:“Amelia was very excited to get out of her kennel and enjoyed getting petted. Very good girl!”Amelia shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been social, tolerant, playful, and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet Amelia today!
