      **Home for the Holidays adoption special.  Half price adoption fee through December 31st Hi there, let me tell you a little about myself. I like nothing better than hanging with my people at home or going on walks. I walk nicely on a leash and love exploring and sniffing while out. I'm a chill girl and very well-behaved in the home.  I do all my pottying outside, and although I don't need to be crated, and I will even hang out in my crate if you need me to. I sleep in my crate in my foster home and love to lay alongside my people on the couch. I am a gentle girl and take my treats so nicely. I'm an 11-year-old Sharpei/Boxer mix who is very healthy and weighs around 60 lbs. I'm unsure what it means, but my foster mom always tells me how gorgeous I am. I sound just about perfect, don't I? I like other dogs well enough and don't mind passing them when we walk, but I would be better in a home without dogs, cats and small children. I can even play in the yard with some, but I'm not particularly eager to share my space or my things with them, so I'm looking for a forever home where I'm the only dog. I should clarify that I don't mind sharing my things with people; it's just the other dogs I don't want to share with. And cats? Well, my foster Mom says I'm way too interested in cats to be able to share a home with any. I don't have a lot of experience with young children, so my foster mom thinks I should stick to adults and teens because I may not do well with the energy of a younger child. Anyway, that's my story. Bruiser was picked up by Newton Co. Animal Control over a month ago. No one came to claim him and nor did he get adopted. Then after a month in a loud kennel he started have a mental decline & became depressed & it showed when he went out to play. He didn’t want to be with other dogs & didn’t want to play. The decision was made that he had to be out by Monday or other actions would take place. After seeing this poor guy, we decided to pull him into the rescue. He is a chill, older male boxer, about 5-7 yrs old, 65lbs, neutered, fully vaccinated & will be microchipped. When he came out of his cage, he was excited & definitely knew what a vehicle was because he jumped right up in the truck, laid down like a gentleman and enjoyed the ride. He knows the sit and shake command and is housebroken. He is not good with cats but is good with other dogs. If you would like to meet Bruiser please make an appointment with the front desk. An adoption application and interview are required for adoption. Adoption fee $250. Located in Covington, GA. Would be interested in finding a foster home in the meantime.
