Meet Spider! Spider is a ten month old Shar Pei/Lab mix that came to us as a stray. He was quite the bouncy boy and immediately wanted to play bow and play with staff. We were surprised when no one came looking for him as he is such a people person but no one came back for him. He is now ready to start over and find his forever family and cannot wait! Spider loves to wrestle with other dogs. He has made lots of friends in the meantime and is a key member of our large playgroup. Spider loves to hop around, race, and wrestle with his furry companions. He didn't seem to mind cats so with a slow introduction, he should do fine. Spider loves all toys and cannot wait to have a toy box of his own someday! His adoption fee is $235, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, heartworm test, current flea/heartworm prevention, registered microchip, and neuter.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.One minute you have an owner that takes you everywhere in his truck and lets you and your brother sleep on the bed or next to his recliner.  Then the unimaginable happens and your dad won’t wake up.  You can’t call for help, you can only watch over your daddy until someone stops by.  After three days strangers started banging on the door and finally brake in.  These are people you have never seen before.  In your fear you both start barking and trying to protect dad.  The next minute you have a catchpole choking your neck and throwing you in a kennel.  You are separated from your brother and thrown in a loud kennel with strangers.  You sit in a corner shaking with fear until you finally see a face you recognize.  But you are so scared you keep barking and growling until you realize they are here to save you and your brother.  This is Chula’s story.     When we got Chula and Booger to the rescue they were still in shock from losing their dad.  For the first two months they would only let Pat near them, since they knew her in their old life.  Finally they started responding and were able to come to the kennels were they could interact with the workers and start looking for a new family.  Booger was able to find a home and is living a remarkable life.  Chula wasn’t understanding how she went from pampered housedog to living in a kennel by herself.  A decision was made to place her with Chance and see if they could make a connection.  The transformation of both dogs was incredible.  Chance became sociable and would allow us to leash him and take him for walks with Chula.  Chula enjoyed getting out of the kennel and playing.  They started spending the day in our exercise areas playing and running.  They have become social to new people and are ready for the right home.  Chula is an older dog.  She only has a few more years if she is lucky.  She has been a house dog and has never pooped in her room.  Ideally, we would love for Chance and  Chula to find a home together.  Unfortunately. we know how rare that opportunity is.  Are you that special someone who has love to give to an older dog?  She can be cautious around new people, but given a few minutes Chula will start working her magic on you.  Chula’s ideal home will be an older family without small children and no cats or small dogs.  She enjoys playing with toys and Chance in the rescue’s exercise yard.  She would love and needs to have a home with a fenced yard with perhaps a companion dog so they can play and explore the yard together.  Chula is a beautiful Shar Pei/lab mix who weighs  61.2 pounds.  She has a thyroid issue, so she has to have thyroid pills twice a day.  Are you wanting a partner to watch TV with?  Chula is ready!  You can apply for Chula at www.adoggie4you.org and arrange a meet and greet.  Chula’s adoption fee is $250.  If you would consider adopting both Chula and Chance, the adoption fee would be $300. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:17 pm

Sweet Alba. How can you not love that adorable face Alba is a Sharpei mix. Unfortunately she didn't have a good life as was found taking cover and hiding out in the bathroom stalls at the Missions baseball field. All that is behind her now and she is ready for her own family!! Alba's great with dogs, not sure about cats. She does a cute little dance when waiting for her food in her crate. Marlee is a fun name for a fun gal! I was living my life and having some fun, except no one got me "fixed" so the fun ended up with me being a single mother with 6 hungry mouths to feed!!! Who thinks that their fun will lead to months of feeding and my milk producers dragging on the ground :( I sure didn't... However, I LOVE MY BABIES!!! Now that they are on their own in foster homes, that is :) I am a fun gal, I love to play with my friends and I am great with other playful and fun dogs. I am a climber and a jumper so it may be why I was out playing in the first place.... but I digress... I am happy and sweet and I have the gorgeous soft, PLENTIFUL muzzle of a Shar Pei, with the energy of a lab or shepherd or who knows what other breed I am. So you know about my "kissable" mug, right?? Shar peis have the big "fluffy" cheeks and soft sweet nose, not to mention the eyes that stare into your SOUL!! Yes, that is ME!!! Now I am a Shar Pei mixed girl, but it's as obvious when you meet me, as the nose on YOUR face :) I am Annabelle and I was dumped with my 9 puppies when they were teeny and I was starving :( LUCKILY, we were dumped by one of our AMAZING public servants (Fire Chief) and his wife, they knew they couldn't just leave us to die... SO THEY SAVED US!!! And let me tell you, we are A LOT of love, kissing and WRINKLES! My pups are all being adopted and I am ready for MY furever home too!! I am so sweet and gentle, I love to play with my doggy friends and puppies but no kitties need apply!! Not a fan of the claws, lol. I am such a good girl that you won't miss not having a kitty anyway :) I am ready for a medium energy home, I love to lay around plenty but can get a little excitement for other things like hiking or neighborhood walking. Hello! My name is Meatball, and I am about 3 years old. When I was found as a stray nobody knew my name nor where I came from. I was definitely someone's dog but sadly, they didn't take good care of me nor come looking for me. Treasured Animal Rescue saw my adorable picture of my underbite and gave me that Freedom Ride. I was sad in the shelter but when I saw my foster Daddy come get my I did this little happy dance. That's when all the laughter took over. I can make you laugh! My name fits me because I'm shaped like a meatball; round and plump. When I get happy my little back end just wiggles & wiggles. I get happy when my foster family comes home from work/school and we get to play ball. I love playing with my ball and the bigger the ball the better. After our play time we snuggle on the couch. I might catch another doggie nap and you can guess it, I snore. I'm housetrained but I have a little tinkle here or there when I get excited. I like to go for walks but my breeding I have to go on short walks especially on hot days. I actually prefer to be on a couch inside with air conditioning. Who doesn't? I'm more of a couch potato watching TV. My foster family leaves a TV on for me when they go to work. Bluey is my favorite show. I like going for car rides and being with people. I haven't been around small kids or cats. I've seen other dogs and get excited. Now that I've settled in with my foster family, I learned Humans can be nice and loving. I think in my past home I didn't have that loving environment. I love hanging out on the couch with my Humans and sometimes don't like to share. I'm the only dog in my foster home and I love all the attention. My foster family thinks I would do best being the only dog in my new home or a good Doggie Leader that can help me not be selfish in the attention department if there is another dog in the home. If I could make one wish and that would be I have a forever family that would take good care of me. They won't let me become a stray. I never want to be on the streets again. Hello?!? Streets or a couch? I prefer a couch! I hope when you come meet me, I can make you laugh and then of course you are going to fall in love with me. Hi, my name is Grover. I am a 1-2 year boxer mix that weighs in at around 65 pounds. I am a big boy. I am looking for a special home. Foster mom says I need to work on training. I can get a little attitude sometimes. I like to be possessive of things, especially rawhides. Also, sometimes I decide I don’t want to do things I am told to. We are working on this and foster mom has laid down some rules for me to follow. Overall I am a good boy, but I will sometimes try to be the boss. Because of this foster mom says I need a dog savvy, adult only home. I would probably do best in a home with 1 to 2 people to keep consistent training. I do come with free training classes in Oswego that will be required with adoption. I also need surgery on my knee. We postponed this to focus on training first. Once I get adopted and go through my training class I will need to have my surgery. Rover Rescue will pay for this as long as it is done at one at one of our vets. Now that we got that out of the way let’s talk about my good features. I am super sweet. I love to snuggle and get pets. I do well at adoption events and love the attention. I do well in the car but do need a seat belt as I tend to try and roam. I do pull on leash, but foster mom got me something called a gentle leader. I don’t like it, but it does help with walking and so I don’t go nuts over other dogs. I am super food motivated so that will help with my training. I will go into my crate as long as I get treats. Sometimes I can get a little whiney in there. I love to play! I love toys and will hand them over for you to throw. We are working on something called “drop it.” My foster mom has also been using a flirt poke which is like a giant cat toy that I love to chase around! Sometimes I just get the zoomies in the backyard. I live with 2 dogs that are around 25 pounds. I have been good with them. The trainer said probably no dogs smaller than that. Also, no cats or other small critters in the house would be best. Sometimes I forget my size and get overbearing. I think I would do best with a playful female about my size. Sometimes I can get a little dominant so probably best if they are a little more submissive. I can sometimes be a little picky about my canine friends at adoption events. I am a work in progress and need to find some willing to continue working with me. Foster mom thinks I will be worth it. Are you the right person to give me a chance?
