Story
Minnie is a sweet, loving puppy that is playful and inquisitive. She has that classic wrinkly/rolly skin. She is cuddly, learning commands, loyal and protective, but gets along well with our smaller dog and 7 year old child. She is *mostly* house trained and will stand by the door and whine to go out, she's crate trained and does not bark a whole lot. Minnie is finding her feet improving daily on coordination and agility, loves to play with toys, enjoys being outside, taking walks, treats, ice cubes and being around her people.

Story
I go by Carmel over here and am loving being the ultimate couch potato at my foster family's house and snoozing the day away!- I like to take things easy most of the time, but I do love a good rolling around in the grass on my back with my legs waving in the air- I also realized since I've been here, that I love being petted and can live with other dogs effortlessly (after slow and proper intros)- I don't mind my toddler human siblings, and could do well in a home with kids- I would prefer a forever home that doesn't have very many steps to go up and down as my joints sometimes get stiff and I don't get around like I use to (but hey, my mom says neither does she!)- I am very sweet and am just as content to sit by you or do my own thing- I'm potty trained, and trusted to be out of the crate when my foster parents are away because I'm such a good girl- If you are looking for a dog that is low maintenance and will keep you company for the rest of her days- I'm your gal! This pet is in a foster home! Story
Zuri A16802446 lb. spayed female, approx 1 year old - She’s definitely a little nervous here- Friendly and very sweet though- Loves to be close for pets. Curls up in your lap for them.- Sits, gives paw and lays down- Takes treats gently but didn’t eat any- Not interested in toys currently- Gives an occasional kiss- Walks well on a leash- Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids. Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm. The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing. 1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Meet Pepper: The Joyful, Wheelchair-Wonder Pup! This chubby little bundle of joy is on the lookout for a forever home that will cherish her unique spirit. Special needs or not, Pepper’s heart is as big as her personality, and she’s ready to bring endless happiness into your life! Pepper may roll around in a wheelchair, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit. In fact, she’s just as active and playful as any other pup. While caring for a dog in a wheelchair might seem a bit daunting, Pepper’s zest for life and her ability to navigate her wheelchair with ease make it incredibly rewarding. Her cheerful disposition and playful antics will make every moment with her a delight. Pepper thrives in the company of kids and will bring countless smiles and laughter into your home. She adores cuddling with her favorite stuffed animals and has a fun-loving, silly personality that’s sure to brighten your days. We’re open to both foster and adoption placements for Pepper, as long as you’re committed to providing her with the love and care she deserves. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Story
Kane was acquired from the Taylor Anmal shelter. He’s between 8&9 years old. What I’m looking for in a new home for him is loving, laid back, who will treat him how deserves to be treated. Kane is very friendly, lovable and loyal. He loves to be outside, he walk great on a harness, he gives 5 with his left paw when getting treats. He’s good with other dogs, he’s never been around cats, and very little exposure to children, but he would be fine with them. He’s just a very sweet, loving, loyal dog! He also loves treats and Kongs with peanut butter in them.
