Meet Cookie – A Broken Heart Ready to Love Again Just a few weeks ago, Cookie’s world shattered. The only family she had ever known left her tied up and abandoned, alone and afraid. When she was rescued, she was completely shut down—confused, heartbroken, and unsure if she could ever trust again. But even in those first quiet days, there was something in her eyes: a flicker of hope, a quiet longing to believe in love once more. With time, patience, and gentle care, Cookie has started to come back to life. Day by day, she’s showing us who she truly is—a soulful, affectionate girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Cookie is deeply connected to people. She craves human companionship and lights up when she feels safe and seen. Once she trusts you, she’ll follow you from room to room, curling up beside you for comfort and leaning in for affection. She is the kind of loyal companion who just wants to be your everything. Because of her past, Cookie does best as the only pet in the home. She’s reactive to other dogs and needs a calm, stable environment where she doesn’t have to compete for attention or feel on edge. A home with adults or older children who understand her boundaries and can give her the predictability she needs would be ideal. Underneath her cautious exterior is a smart, expressive girl who has so much love to give. She’s affectionate, playful, and incredibly devoted once she opens up—and she’s just waiting for someone to see the beautiful spirit that’s been there all along. Cookie has made incredible progress, but shelter life is no place for a dog still healing. She needs a quiet home where she can continue to grow, feel secure, and finally learn what it means to be truly loved. She’s ready—now she just needs someone willing to give her the chance. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. (The DNA test showed German shepherd, Shar Pei and Chow.) This adorable spirited little boy and his siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Barnabas is a gentle boy, but dose love to run and play with other dogs. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. he is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Big boy is a gentle boy but does love to run and play with other dogs. Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. He’s also good about lying down and self entertaining.-He’s very food motivated, sits or goes into a lay, and takes them decently.-He seems smart and eager to learn and to continue working on his puppy manners. He has a great foundation already!-He loves to snuggle up close and relax for pets and belly rubs. He would have laid there all day in my arms if he could have!-He gives kisses-Walks decent on leash with minimal pulling-Will need some puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy. They require time and patience to be the best that they can be! -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros *Has had time in a home and we learned the following*-loves playing with the other dogs (slow and proper intros always recommended)-100% housetrained and great on car rides-does excellent in his crate, where he spends his time when his foster family is away from the home.
