Story
This is Wally, he is a 6 year old, Chinese Sharpei/Brindle pit mix, without a mean bone in his body. He is up to date on all vaccines , he is fixed, and pretty well-mannered. He is house broken and does not require being in a crate while he is home alone. Wally has a few special needs that require some extra love. He has epilepsy(seizure free over 3 years due to his treatment!) and he is developing early cataracts. Wally is good with children of all ages, dogs and even cats, he just wants to play with everything he comes in contact with. Wally knows basic commands and loves to play fetch with just about anything, he is pretty darn good at it to. Wally has lots of life and energy but also loves a good snuggle when its time. Our family life, house and work have drastically changed and unfortunately my family can no longer care for Wally the way he deserves so we are on the search for his new furever home. Cant wait to find and meet Wally's new special family, is it you?

Story
Thank you for checking me out! I am a petite girl at around 30lbs. I love going for walks and hanging out.  I am currently getting ready to go through heartworm treatment but I would still love to meet you to see if we are a good match.  If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application and we could be besties very soon! Love, Yara We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   October 1, 2023, 3:08 pm

Story
What a sweet boy Frankie is! He is estimated to be about 18 months old and weighs 41 pounds. He is a mixed breed...maybe with some Shar Pei and lab. If you want someone to be your best friend and shadow, Frankie will volunteer, he only wants to be close to you! He can be a little shy and submissive, but just give him some time to get to know you and he is so connecting. He will go into playmode when he is comfortable and it is very cute to see. Frankie will need an adopter who has the time to work on confidence building and leadership in order for him to thrive. He would just love an active, fun home with room to run and where any children are at least 8 years old, due to his shy nature. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Frankie would love to meet them. He has a soft, submissive approach with other dogs and would probably need a calmer friend. If you are interested in Frankie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle.
