Story
Meet Kiko Kiko is a 2-year-old neutered male with a coat as unique as his personality—shifting between a gorgeous gray and warm brown depending on the light. He’s truly a handsome boy who turns heads wherever he goes. True to his Shar Pei nature, Kiko can be a little standoffish when you first meet him. He likes to take his time getting to know new people, but give him a few days and you’ll see his loyal, affectionate side shine through. Once you’re in his circle, you’re in for good. Kiko is wonderfully well-mannered. He does great in a kennel and can be trusted to free roam the house when left alone. Currently fostered with four other dogs, he gets along well with canine companions—especially those who match his laid-back vibe. Kiko believes most things are “a tomorrow problem” and would thrive in a mellow home with easygoing dog friends who move at his pace. He enjoys leisurely walks where he can take in the world around him, and he absolutely loves sunbathing outside—give him a warm patch of sunshine and he’s one happy boy. Because loud, sudden noises can startle him, Kiko would do best in a home without the hustle and bustle of young children. A calm, steady environment will help him feel safe and allow his sweet personality to fully blossom. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion with a soulful gaze and a heart of gold, Kiko just might be your perfect match. February 12, 2026, 2:49 pm

Story
Hi! My name is Tom Hardy! My specialties are: Knows SIT! Can SHAKE with both paws! WALKS great on leash! Couch POTATO! Plays FETCH and brings the ball back! PLAYFUL but not rowdy! Understands "go lay down"! Takes treats very GENTLY! Has shown himself to be TIDY and house trained (though every pup needs a little grace adjusting to a new home at first)! Enjoys RIDING in cars! Tom is a little too interested in cats, so a feline-free home is best. Tom Hardy is also a PAWS dog, which means he comes with 1 year of FREE vet care. This sweet boy has so much affection to give and is just waiting for the perfect family to call his own. Will you please give this handsome guy a forever home? A team member adds, " I’ve been reading to Tom Hardy for a while, and he is one of my favorite dogs I’ve met at Animal Humane. He is a perfect dog—sweet, gentle and silly. He is so goofy and lovable."

Story
A bit bashful Boone here. That name comes from French for “good” and “blessing” and “kind”. This whole shelter thing is new to me so I’m a bit timid but warm up quickly. My walkers say I’m a dream on leash and prefer a nice strolling pace. Once I get to know you, I’ll show you my wiggle and sweet, affectionate well-mannered “good boy” self. I may need a short transition period as I learn a new routine, but with just a little patience, my affectionate nature will shine through. I’m ready for a second chance at a forever home where I can show my love and be loved. Please check me out and bring the family and other pups for a “Meet & Greet”. If you’re looking for Mr. Mellow, I’m your guy. A team member shares, "I walked Boone yesterday and what a delightful big boy. His desire for affection made for a great walk. He just soaked up the pets on his chin. The look in his eyes made me realize Boone would easily adapt to a new home with ample affection. Because Boone responds so well to affection I can't imagine he would have a hard time adapting to new surroundings. The way Boone responded to sit and lay down commands, I realized Boone wants to please."

Story
Jango is a sweet, goofy guy looking for a forever home with his new best friend. Could you be the perfect human to take him home? He is a sweet, young, and energetic pup! He loves treats and and knows how to sit on command... and is ready to learn more tricks too. Jango would do best with a dog who allows him to play at his own pace and would love to meet your dog before going home! A team member says, "Jango is a sweet, sweet boy. He adores spending time with human friends and checks in with you frequently for pets and affection, which is nice because this boy has the softest fur! He walks very nicely on a leash, and he knows how to sit. If you're looking for a new BFF, Jango is your guy."
