Story
Wow, what an adventure I've had so far! I was running the streets here in Wallkill, and sadly my family wasn't looking for me even though everyone here at Pets Alive did all they could to find them. So now I'm having fun with the staff and volunteers here, going on walks, learning to give paw, and other tricks, too! They say I'm a quick learner, so that has to count for something and help me to move onto my next adventure: a home where I will be the cherished pet I deserve to be. *Cat Free Home *Single Dog Home **Please Note** Our pet listings update automatically every 4 hours, so they are as current as possible. If interested in adopting, please fill out our online application. Please note applications are general and not for a specific animal, and we do not hold animals while processing applications. When Jody and Buffy were first seen, they roamed the streets with their mother and siblings. It took some time to trap these two. The 3rd sibling was hit by a truck trailer and passed away. The mother and 4th dog were never seen again. When they came to us, they were very skinny and had very bad skin. Good food and vet care, and they are now healthy and ready to go home. Born sometime in April 2023 Jody weighs 35 lbs. in mid-December Loves being patted He sleeps up against the foster. He would love attention and love and it would affect on his trust of you. Jody is very playful. He Loves squeaky toys. Jody has been fostered in TX and can come to NJ when adopted. **All dogs posted are available for adoption ***If we didn't reply to your inquiry, please check your spam folder Adoption application https://form.jotform.com/210286667669167 To Foster with us, please fill out the foster application https://form.jotform.com/210257395409155om/210257395409155

*Name: Bruno *Age: 6.5 years old *Current Weight: 45 pounds *Rescued from: South Carolina *Adoption fee: $ 375 *Health: Up to date on vaccines, & microchipped, neutered *Adoption requirements: Adopter must be 25 or older, No cats Meet Bruno! Bruno is such a good boy and just looking for someone to love. When his prior family lost their housing they had to give up poor Bruno and the shelter begged us to take him, as he is such a wonderful boy and boy were they right. Bruno is Crate and house trained and knows commands (come, sit, stay, paw). Bruno is a big love, who is quiet and reserved. Bruno is absolutely wonderful on leash, he loves his morning strolls with our volunteer. He would make an excellent companion for anyone who take long walks and needs a buddy. Bruno has a very chill relaxed personality and would flourish in a home that would have the same type of energy. Brunos ideal home would be one without small children since fast movements make him nervious. Bruno prefers to hang out with female dogs over males since he likes to show off in front of the ladies. Bruno loves to investigate the yards here at our adoption center and when he is done just plop down in the grass and just relax. Our staff and volunteers love Brunos wonderful demenor and chill personality. This beautiful boy is just looking for the right place to call home.  FAQs -- PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE EMAILING All adoption fees are non-refundable If paying by credit card, Venmo, or PayPal there is a set processing fee, generally this fee is under $15 per pet. These processing fees are determined by the form of payment adopters decide to use. By helping with this minimal cost this allows us to save more animals. Please note that SNARR NE is a volunteer-based organization. While our volunteers will try to respond to you as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the below information about our adoption process before emailing: LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. *NOTE* We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Because we often do not have access to medical records at the time that we are listing for dogs for adoption, there are sometimes discrepancies between what is posted on their profile and what might be listed on a dog's medical records. SNARR'S ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting a SNARR dog/puppy is to fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/. Once we receive your application, one of our adoption application processors will contact you, review our adoption process with you, and answer any additional questions you may have. **We do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog. ** MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until after your adoption application has been fully processed and approved by one of our adoption processors. APPLYING ONLINE: If you fill out an online application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device), make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible, and that you receive a confirmation email. Story
*Name: Lucy - 2 *Age: 6 years *Current Weight: 57 pounds *Rescued from: Texas (currently located with foster in Texas, transport will be scheduled once adopted.) *Adoption fee: $375 Meet Lucy! From laying out in the sun to cuddling on the couch, I am as easy as can be to please! KIDS ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE FREINDS! Playing dress up is my specialty! I am wokring hard on my manners and commands. I will do just about anything for a treat! I love to go for walks and my pace is right by your side! I don't mind relaxing by myself and won't even chew your favorite shoes! Lucy was rescued from the cruel streets of Houston and she surprised her foster family with a growing belly! She had 7 healthy and chunky babies (who are all adopted now) and took great care of them. All her puppies found furever homes and now it's Lucy's turn.   Lucy is estimated to be around 4 years old, spayed and successfully completed fast kill heartworm treatment and now gets her advantage multi every month to keep away those pesky squitos!  She’s a mello gal that loves nothing more then to hang out with her person.  She enjoys chillin' and cuddling on the sofa, binge watching another Netflix series sounds like an awesome idea to our darling Lucy. She adores humans (especially kids) and gets along with other mellow dogs.Lucy needs a home with no cats or small dogs. Lucy would love a home with a mello canine buddy her size or she would be just as happy to be the only pup soaking up all the attention her humans will give. Lucy has been in foster care since April 2021 and is looking for her forever home. Please consider adopting this girl if you enjoy puppy hugs and kisses.  To apply to adopt, fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/ PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FAQs  ##1333380##

The sweetest 5 year old sharpei mix. He almost didn't make it out of the shelter... he was so very sick, depressed and had given up. I don't think anyone had ever told him what a good boy he is. We couldn't leave him him, he needed a chance. It was touch and go for the first few days, but with good meds and round the clock care, he came back. He wagged his tail, and opened his eyes, and his soul returned. A month later and he is happy, healthy and a goofy boy who loves everyone he meets. He is quiet and low key, loves his kennel and is good in the house. He would actually be a perfect apartment companion, all he wants is a home, and love. He deserves to be told he is a good boy. Meet Zeus! Very different than his namesake, the God of Thunder and Lightening…Zeus is super playful, friendly with other dogs and people, and is a very happy puppy. Zeus’s mom was abandoned near a public government building and it is believed that she was already pregnant. A few months later she gave birth to Zeus and his siblings. But this is a story with a happy ending… An animal rescue organization learned of this situation, and Zeus's mom was rescued and is currently in foster, and Zeus will now have the luxury of a forever home. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website, ny-petrescue.org. Story
Petey is a gigantic goof who does not know he's almost 90 pounds! This handsome hunk is as silly as they come and has plenty of energy for any outdoor activity. But of course, Petey contains multitudes... at home, he's a total couch potato and loves the calm and quiet pace that only a home can provide. Petey loves to play fetch and willingly shares his toys during playtime! He takes treats very softly and enjoys belly rubs. Petey loves every adult he meets when he's out and about but needs to live in an adult-only home! According to Petey, cats make great toys... so for the sake of cats everywhere, we're putting a stop to that, too. To recap: Tons (90 pounds) of fun? CHECK Goof with no idea he's 90 pounds? CHECK Rude around kids? CHECK Kind of a jerk to cats? CHECK Not interested in sharing a home with other dogs? CHECK Missed the puppy school class titled "Sharing Is Caring"? CHECK Great couch warmer?
