Story
Petey is a gigantic goof who does not know he's almost 90 pounds! This handsome hunk is as silly as they come and has plenty of energy for any outdoor activity. But of course, Petey contains multitudes... at home, he's a total couch potato and loves the calm and quiet pace that only a home can provide. Petey loves to play fetch and willingly shares his toys during playtime! He takes treats very softly and enjoys belly rubs. Petey loves every adult he meets when he's out and about but needs to live in an adult-only home! According to Petey, cats make great toys... so for the sake of cats everywhere, we're putting a stop to that, too. To recap: Tons (90 pounds) of fun? CHECK Goof with no idea he's 90 pounds? CHECK Rude around kids? CHECK Kind of a jerk to cats? CHECK Not interested in sharing a home with other dogs? CHECK Missed the puppy school class titled "Sharing Is Caring"? CHECK Great couch warmer? Story
Winston’s life before coming to the shelter was one of heartbreak and isolation. He spent most of his early years locked away in a crate, denied the chance to run, play, or simply be a dog. His world was small and lonely — until the day his owner tied him to a guardrail and walked away, leaving him frightened, filthy, and severely underweight.Since arriving at the shelter, Winston has experienced more freedom than he ever knew existed. For the first time, he’s learning what it means to be cared for, to feel grass under his paws, and to receive love without strings attached. Though he's come a long way, Winston is still healing. He’s apprehensive of unfamiliar situations and especially wary of men — a sign of the trauma he’s endured. But with time, patience, and kindness, he can and does learn to trust.Winston is incredibly intelligent and highly food-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. He gets along well with cats and most other dogs, and he thrives in calm environments where he can feel safe and secure. After spending over a year at the shelter, Winston is ready to find his forever home — one with someone who understands that trust takes time and healing isn’t always linear. But for those willing to give him that chance, Winston has so much love to give in return.Could you be the one to show Winston what a real home feels like?

Blaze would do well living with other pets and is ready to settle into a home where he can be part of the daily routine.
