Neve was found after being attacked by stray dogs. She never fought back, it just isn't in her sweet nature. She had several procedures to repair the injuries she sustained from the attack. Her wounds are healing and she is on the mend. She remains super lovable in spite of everything she has been through, and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity and well wishes. Vodka is one of Sabre’s puppies (our Shar-Pei mix). He was born on April 26, 2024, just 2 days after we pulled his very pregnant momma from being killed in the shelter. We think his mom, Sabre, might be the missing sibling of two other Shar pei we saved in the same area. They were found wandering a highway in Texas, but Sabre and their mom had disappeared before we could catch them. After Sabre was found and pulled from the shelter, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies, so we raised a toast and named them accordingly! Vodka is a 40-pound male who is vaccinated and microchipped. He’s too young to be neutered just yet. Like all his siblings, he is a cute boy who is playful, funny and loves playing with tiny toys. He is currently being fostered in PA. According to his foster mom, Vodka is good with other dogs, house-trained, super sweet, and “everyone loves being with him.” He also loves squirrels, so he will give chase, so it’s good to have him on a leash. And he loves playing with potatoes, of all things LOL! He is also not a fan of being alone and prefers being around his human. Sabre is a shar-pei mix who we think is the missing sibling of Jody and Buffy. Jody and Buffy were found on the highway after one of their siblings was hit by a truck. Sabre, and the mother, weren’t found with them. But after a few months we got a call from the shelter and they had found a pregnant pup who looked to be Jody and Buffy’s sibling. She didn’t have much time left in the shelter before she was scheduled for euthanization so we didn’t think twice about pulling her out immediately. Just two days after she arrived at our Texas foster’s house, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies - 2 of which are still looking for their forever homes - Vodka and Whiskey who are also posted for adoption. Sabre was an incredible young mother, but now it's time for her to start enjoying life for herself. Sabre is estimated to be just about a year old. She is fully vaccinated and will be spayed before going home. She is a very loving girl, and very friendly with all the animals and the humans that she mets. She walks well on a leash. She seems to be house-trained. Her foster says she is a great dog!! Sabre is currently in Texas but will be transported to NJ when adopted. Whiskey is all puppy! But he’s also a very smart boy! According to his foster mom, “Whiskey does not stop amazing me with how incredibly smart he is and with how much he just likes to please humans! I have no doubt that he would make an amazing therapy or even service dog in the right hands.” He’s got a beautiful, shiny black coat, and his little tail is constantly wagging! He’s as friendly as can be and likes to kiss your nose. Unfortunately, taking good pictures of his wiggly 41-pound ball of happiness is hard. But you know what's not hard? Walking him. Whiskey walks with slack in his leash - just like a good boy! Whiskey was born on April 26, 2024, just 2 days after we pulled his very pregnant momma from being killed in the shelter. She gave birth to nine beautiful puppies, so we made toast and named them accordingly! Now in NJ, his foster mom says: “Whiskey is a very loving boy! Initially, he was a little shy, but having other dogs show him the ropes built his confidence and character. He is VERY loving and a Velcro dog. He is very smart, and though he loves treats, he loves pets even more. He’s really pleasant to train because he wants to please the human, treats or not. He watches TV and loves comfy couches and beds, but his favorite thing is being outside in the yard. (He could be out there all day if you let him) He does have some separation anxiety. He does not like to be in the crate and does not enjoy not seeing a human at all times. But with time and positive reinforcement, he’s been improving in the playpen - still working on it. I try to get pictures of him, but when I go down to his level, he "attacks" me with puppy kisses, and he can’t contain his loving self. 🥰🥰🥰” Whiskey is vaccinated and microchipped.
