Story
Kopi is a smart and loyal dog but also very protective of one of the owners to a point that she started to go after our other older sharpei. She just turned 5 years old. She is house trained and listens to some basic commands. Need experienced adopter who understands Sharpei traits and no other dog household. She watches TV with us and is a couch potato. Loves her walks daily and her chew toys. She does not have any of the typical Sharpei skin, eyes, health, etc. issues and only need her bathe once every couple months. She is an indoor dog but she also likes exploring our fenced in backyard daily. She will not be suitable to be in any big and busy city environment as she does not like crowds and traffic noises.

Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to NJ for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Dot – Your New Best Friend! 🐾 Dot is a sweet and soulful Shar Pei mix with a heart full of love! This adorable girl is fully grown, weighs in at a 31 pounds, and is estimated to be around 2–3 years old. Dot is the total package—gentle, playful, and incredibly affectionate. She gets along wonderfully with adults, kids, and other dogs, especially in casual settings like walks or group play. (We’re not sure how she feels about cats just yet!) Dot is very food-motivated and already knows commands like “sit,” “go to bed,” and how to settle into her crate. She’s perfectly crate-trained and has never had an accident with us. Her previous foster raved about her house manners and how much she loves to cuddle. Whether she's playing fetch, enjoying a walk, or curling up for snuggles, Dot is happiest when she's with her people. Her dog walker calls her "an absolute joy to be around"—and we couldn’t agree more. If you're looking for a loving, well-mannered companion with the cutest little face, Dot might just be your perfect match! 💕 Interested in becoming a forever home for Dot Pei? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us.For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public in Oklahoma. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Winston’s life before coming to the shelter was one of heartbreak and isolation. He spent most of his early years locked away in a crate, denied the chance to run, play, or simply be a dog. His world was small and lonely — until the day his owner tied him to a guardrail and walked away, leaving him frightened, filthy, and severely underweight.Since arriving at the shelter, Winston has experienced more freedom than he ever knew existed. For the first time, he’s learning what it means to be cared for, to feel grass under his paws, and to receive love without strings attached. Though he's come a long way, Winston is still healing. He’s apprehensive of unfamiliar situations and especially wary of men — a sign of the trauma he’s endured. But with time, patience, and kindness, he can and does learn to trust.Winston is incredibly intelligent and highly food-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. He gets along well with cats and most other dogs, and he thrives in calm environments where he can feel safe and secure. After spending over a year at the shelter, Winston is ready to find his forever home — one with someone who understands that trust takes time and healing isn’t always linear. But for those willing to give him that chance, Winston has so much love to give in return.Could you be the one to show Winston what a real home feels like?
