TUGBOAT is a male Shar Pei mix…DOB 7/25/25…and will probably get to be 45-60#.
He is the sweetest ever! He’s so friendly and so loving and happy. He loves all other dogs and plays with such enthusiasm. He is in foster with dogs and cats. He has not had any accidents, so we say 'potty trained' but we do take the pups out often, it is not yet that he tells us he needs to go out. He is very quiet, does great in a crate all night. He is so much fun to watch. He just wiggles and wags constantly he is so happy.
He loves laps and would likely be very good with children as he is NOT nippy. He can be easily redirected with the fosters cats and doesn't seem prey driven at all. That being said, he doesn't appear to get when the cats swat at him that they are saying 'leave me alone'. He wants to play! Hence, if you aren't experienced training dogs with cats, perhaps he wouldn't be the best fit if you have cats. He never harms them, but does wish to play with all (cats, dogs everyone). He plays great with all 3 dogs in his foster home. He is also not very large. He loves to cuddle and is not a super chewer. Great in his crate all night. Loves to chase a rubber balls. He loves treats.
TUGBOAT is an absolute treat, so friendly and loving. He was found as a single puppy about 6 wks old alongside the road in San Antonio, Texas. We don’t know why…Dumped? Mama lost him from the rest of the litter? We don’t know but he is probably the lucky one. He is now totally vetted…has all 4 puppy shots, Rabies, neutered, and getting great puppy food. Please give his consideration, he deserves a fantastic life. He might possibly have some Boxer in him?
Check out our YouTube videos when he was young and still in Texas at the rescue.

HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/
This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose.
Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species.
