Story
Meet Sir Edward! He is (approximately) 6 years old and a 20-25 pounds full grown. Edward is from our most recent hoarding case and dogs DNA tested from the household were a smorgasbord of breeds (Coonhound, Sheltie, Lhasa Apso, Russell mix, etc, etc). Sir Edward is full of life and full of himself! He enjoys the company of other animals and LOVES to play. He has been exposed to kittens, puppies, and dogs of many ages and sizes, but not all love his playful excitement. He is still learning the ways of the world in regards to kennel, potty, routine, and just being a dog. He will need an adopter with patience and the resources to teach him these things. Sir Edward has some herding tendencies, so no young children please. A fenced in yard is preferred - he doesn’t know how to walk on a leash yet! Adoption application can be found on our website!

Story
Meet adorable COSMO! This happy teddy bear has just arrived into rescue in the DC area from NC to find his furever home! Cosmo is a gorgeous 1 year old, 28 pound, black and tan sheltie mix! This strikingly handsome southern guy is not only sweet and lovable, but such a happy dog. He loves to nuzzle with you to give so gentle of "kisses." Cosmos has adapted very well to new situations, and adjusted quickly and well to home living; he gets along with other dogs and absolutely LOVES to meet humans of all ages! Cosmos can chill comfortably when you are busy with your work. He is smart, and LOVES to go for walks. Cosmos would love to curl up with you to hang out on a spring night; he loves to cuddle and get pets! He would be an excellent new member of the family! Cosmos was found with two other dogs and ended up at the overcapacity NC shelter. While the other dogs were reclaimed, sweet Cosmos waited and no one came for him! The shelter asked PetConnect if we could bring this sweet, friendly pup into rescue! A great foster offered to give him a place to hang out and thus we arranged transport. He is so happy that PetConnect has come to his rescue to find a forever family that will give him the attention that he deserves and never end up in such a scary place as a kill-shelter ever again. ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ) , spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Cosmos is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email Robin at kinstondogs@verizon.net **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
This adorable guy is called Petie and he is a senior Shetland Sheep mix boy that lost his beloved mom of 8 years just recently.  She passed away suddenly.  Peetie had been a part of the Critter Cavalry Rescue about 8 years ago and we took him back in to keep him safe.  We updated all his vetting and did a much needed dental and bloodwork too!  This happy boy is always smiling and always wants to play.  He acts like a 4-5 year old dog instead of 10 years.   He is not going anywhere for a long time we can tell you that. He is great with other dogs, cats and all people he meets. F fenced yard would be fantastic or a dog park.  Petie is crate trained and loves to vocalize when he knows that people are nearby or even dogs.  All you have to do is say…HUSH PETIE…and he hushes.  We think that an apartment is NOT the right place for this small 20 pound boy.  He is solid as a rock and his gorgeous red and blackish fur is just stunning.  He would adore you to brush him and give him some TLC every few days.  He sleeps in the bed with his foster mom and he greets new foster dogs with enthusiasm and excitement.  If you are looking for a medium energy boy that also knows how to cuddle and snuggle, then Petie is the one for you!  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 6, 2024, 7:28 pm

SKYLAR NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name: Skylar            Best Guess for Breed: Sheltie/Golden Retriever Mix      Best Guess for Age:  5 months as of 4/16            SEX:  Female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):   21 lbs as of 4/16   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs DC area foster or forever home   Special Adoption Considerations:  Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Skylar is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Skylar! Me and my littermates, Sparrow and Sienna, have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
