Story
This is Tora, she is 6 years old. She is 54 lbs and won't get any bigger. She is spayed and up to date with most shots but still needs her most recent rabies vaccine. Tora is incredibly smart, loyal and loving. She does well with kids and other dogs. She is very energetic and down for adventure. She will make an amazing new friend and a perfect addition to any family. We've decided to rehome her due to an upcoming long distance move. Finding a place in another state is difficult enough without limiting it to somewhere that accepts dogs. We've been caring for my Mother in Law with severe Alzheimer’s Dementia for the last 2 1/2 years which has taken time and attention from Tora. She needs a family that will shower her with love and give her the time she deserves.

These pups are in Oceanside, California too!

Story
How this pet arrived: Molly was brought in by her previous owner on January 18, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Molly - beauty, brains, and a little bit of sass! Molly bonds deeply with her people and is the kind of devoted, affectionate companion who will always be by your side (and probably watching your every move in the sweetest way). She loves long walks, playing with toys and zooming around the yard! Molly prefers to be the star of the show and would thrive as the only pet in the home. Slow, thoughtful introductions in new situations will help her feel confident and secure. Since she can be a bit timid at first, an adult-only home or one with older children (10+) would be her perfect match. With structure, consistency, and lots of love, Molly will absolutely shine as a loyal, one-and-only best friend! At SDHS:Molly has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Shy/Fearful Dog: Molly requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. Primary Color: Fawn Secondary Color: White Weight: 71.2 Age: 3yrs 3mths 3wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Jovan was brought in by a community member on October 2, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Jovan is a distinguished senior gentleman and a true gentle giant. He came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his past - but what we do know is that he adores calm spaces, cozy naps and sunbathing like it's an art form. He loves being pet and will happily lean in for all the affection you're willing to give. He's done well interacting with other pups in our care and seems to be potty-trained. Like many seniors, he's shown some possible signs of arthritis in our care, but nothing gets in the way of his ability to appreciate the simple joys in life. Jovan is looking for a peaceful home where he can take things slow, soak up the sunshine and be your loyal, low-key companion. If you've got a sunny spot and a soft bed, Jovan is ready to settle in and steal your heart. At SDHS:Jovan has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!Jovan has been chosen as an Employee Pick! To see what makes him extra special click here. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 87 Age: 8yrs 5mths 2wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Popeye was brought in by a community member on August 19, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Ahoy, Matey! Meet Popeye, a spirited and social guy who is ready to find his new home. Having spent much of his life as an outdoor adventurer, he is currently transitioning to indoor living and will thrive with a patient owner who can provide a bit of structure. Popeye is a truly friendly companion who loves going on long walks, mastering the art of the "sploot," and soaking up as much affection and petting as he can get. Because he prefers to keep his favorite food and toys to himself, he would do best in a home with children over the age of 10 who can help him feel secure. While he can be reactive toward other dogs and should avoid off-leash areas, he is a loyal partner who will make a wonderful addition to the right family. If you have another dog or older children, please bring them along to meet him and see if it's a match. With a bit of structure, patience and treats, Popeye will be the best first mate you could ask for! Don't forget to bring a leash and collar for a safe transport home! At SDHS:Popeye has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home! Dog Reactive Dog: Popeye requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him. Primary Color: Blue Secondary Color: White Weight: 66.4 Age: 6yrs 7mths 0wks
