Story
Ember is a Shepherd mix, estimated DOB is 4/2025 and she currently weighs 60 lbs. She is very smart, walks good on a leash, and loves to ride in the car. She knows basic commands. She loves to play and run through the water. She is crate trained and gets along with the dogs she currently lives with. Ember does well with people and older kids. Her ideal home would be one with room to run and play, so no apartments. She needs a person who has the experience and time to continue her training. A home with a person that is not gone long hours during the day would be best. Ember loves to be with her person, so she would love to find a home with a family that is committed to taking her on daily walks, have outside playtime, and that would include her in other activities and outings. Ember is a wonderful girl and will make a great companion for the right family! Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......visit our website https://siarescuers.org/ to learn more about our rescue group and adoption process. Story
Sierra's Story Sierra is a sweet girl with a gorgeous brindle coat and adorable spotted paws! She was born in 10/2022 and currently weighs 35#. Sierra was adopted from us as a puppy but has been recently returned due to her family not being able to provide the life she deserves. Here are some notes from her fostermom: Sierra loves to go for walks and play fetch. She has been great with our small dogs. She also did well while being boarded. She got along with all of the other dogs, and she even did great with the dog experienced cats! Sierra enjoys cuddling on the couch with my husband and teenage children. She sleeps peacefully in the crate through the night, and crates easily during the day when we leave the house. Sierra appears to be potty trained. She hasn't asked to be let out, but we let our dogs out regularly to go potty and haven't had any issues. The person who cared for her while we were on vacation also reported that Sierra had no accidents while staying with her. Sierra isn't super food motivated, but she will sometimes take higher value treats while working on her sit and down. Sierra has a calm personality unless she is playing or scared. She is very gentle with our 8 lb terrier mix and our 12 lb papillon mix. Sierra needs a fully fenced backyard where she can safely run and play. Sierra has shown some fear of strangers coming into our home, but we are working on that. She barks and tries to run away, but with patience and treats, she learns that strangers can be okay. Sierra needs someone who can guide her through new experiences and situations that may be overwhelming or scary for her. Because of this, if we have a bunch of new people over, I will crate her so she feels safe or keep her on a leash with me, so I can guide her and advocate for her as needed. I think it is possible that Sierra could do great around children, but I feel that she should not live with young children because she is part Australian Cattle Dog and has some herding instincts. Recently, we took Sierra to Petco and TJ Maxx. She did great! She walked nicely through the store and waited patiently in line with us. Sierra is a great dog who deserves a loving home with owners as devoted to her as she is to them. Story
Art is a bright, spirited girl with a big personality and an even bigger love for playtime! If you’re looking for an active, engaging companion to join you on life’s adventures, Art might be your perfect match! She’s incredibly smart and thrives when she has something to do, whether that’s learning new skills, exploring the world, or enjoying a fun, structured game with her favorite people. Art has a strong enthusiasm for toys and play, which could make her a great candidate for dog sports or other enrichment activities that keep both her mind and body busy. Art can get a little extra excited in the moment and may greet you with an enthusiastic jump now and then, but she’s eager to learn and benefits from clear guidance and consistency. She’ll do best in a home that can continue helping her build polite manners and channel her energy in positive ways. While Art loves her human friends and bonds deeply with her people, she prefers to be the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the attention. We`re requiring that she go to a single-dog home where she can feel like the center of your universe. Because Art prefers not to share her space with other dogs, she would also not be a good fit for dog parks or other off-leash dog social settings. Despite her energy levels, it’s not all go-go-go! Art has a wonderfully soft side, too. She absolutely adores affection and will happily lean in for pets, gazing up at you with her gentle brown eyes. Those quiet, snuggly moments are just as special to her as playtime. Because of her energetic play style, any children in Art`s new home are required to be age 10 or older. We also recommend that her new family has experience with dog ownership so they can better address her training needs. If you’re ready for a loyal, fun-loving, and affectionate companion, come meet Art at the Placer SPCA and see if she’s the missing piece in your life!Adoption Price: $150Monthly Promotion Applies!
