Meet Thunder!
BIG head, BIG personality, BIG feelings, and absolutely NO concept of personal space!
Thunder is a 6 month old Pit Bull mix who arrived in our care alongside his sister, Lightning, and let's just say this boy has taken his name VERY seriously.
First things first, Thunder is a whole lotta puppy packed into one very dense little body. Between his giant bowling ball of a head and his complete lack of awareness of his own size, this handsome gentleman occasionally operates like a wrecking ball with legs. But don't worry, he ALWAYS means well!
Thunder absolutely ADORES other dogs. In fact, he might love them a little TOO much. He's currently learning that not every dog appreciates an enthusiastic, full body greeting and that personal boundaries are, apparently, a thing. He's making great progress learning how to channel all that excitement into being a respectful little gentleman!
And while Thunder may look like a big, tough guy, we have a little secret to share… he's actually a big ole baby. Sometimes unexpected things give him a little spook, and despite his tough exterior, he's still figuring out that the world isn't quite as scary as it seems.
Thunder is also quite the accomplished little student! He's doing wonderfully with potty training, making great progress with his leash manners, and has even learned how to entertain himself with toys. Now, he's still working on understanding that not everything in the house is a toy. Apparently, the difference between his belongings and everyone else's is a concept that requires further investigation.
And did we mention this boy LOVES food? Because he does. A LOT. Snacks are basically his love language, and he's more than happy to accept payment in treats for being the handsome little gentleman he is.
But perhaps Thunder's greatest talent is loving his people with his ENTIRE heart. Once this boy decides you're his person, congratulations! You've officially acquired a 24/7 personal bodyguard, emotional support shadow, and professional cuddle monster.
Thunder firmly believes that his favorite human should remain within a five foot radius at ALL times. Going into another room without him? Absolutely unacceptable. Leaving his sight for thirty seconds? A personal betrayal.
Thankfully, as Thunder's confidence continues to grow, he's learning that a little independence is actually okay and that his beloved humans don't magically disappear just because they're in the other room. He's making wonderful progress, and with continued patience and reassurance, we know he'll keep growing into a more confident boy.
Thunder may be a little clumsy, a little dramatic, and a whole lot of puppy, but underneath that giant head is an even bigger heart.
He's goofy, affectionate, playful, endlessly entertaining, and just wants a family who will love him through all his silly puppy moments while helping him become the best version of himself.

*PLEASE NOTE*
- All adoptions are handled on a first come, first served basis and require an approved adoption application. If you’re hoping to adopt at the event, we highly encourage you to submit your application ahead of time! Be sure to include all required records and documentation to help streamline the approval process and make your adoption experience as smooth as possible.
- We host adoption events almost every Saturday from *11:00 AM to 2:00 PM* around the Fort Collins community!
- NOT all of our dogs attend our adoption events. If there is a specific dog you are interested in meeting at the adoption event, please email aaaradoptioncoordinator@gmail.com to see if they will be attending.
- Photos, information, age, breed, size, medical status, behavior, and adoption fee are all subject to change as we get to know them. We will continue to update their profiles with information and photos to better represent them!
- We are a foster based rescue and do not have animals at our office.
- We can only finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better, it takes time to review and approve applications!
