Story
Posie is a beautiful, intelligent dog who’s been working hard on her training for several months and has made great strides with the help of a dedicated trainer. She is looking for a very specific kind of home—one where her boundaries are respected, her training is maintained, and her environment is predictable and safe.Posie is not a dog-park kind of girl. She can be resource aggressive with both dogs and humans, especially around food, toys, and even people she bonds with. She requires strict management and supervision around other animals and should never be left alone with other pets. For this reason, she will thrive best as the only dog in the home. While Posie has slowly learned to tolerate and even bond with her trainer’s dogs, that process took over a month and still requires careful attention to avoid conflicts. Her ideal adopter will be someone committed to continuing her structured training using tools like a remote collar and positive reinforcement, especially in public or off-leash environments. When her training is followed, she does beautifully on leash and can pass other people and animals calmly and confidently.Because Posie can be reactive with humans over resources as well, she needs an adult-only home with dog-savvy adopters who understand how to read canine behavior and are comfortable managing a dog with strong opinions and boundaries.Posie is not the dog for every home—but for the right person, she will be an incredibly loyal, loving, and rewarding companion. If you're experienced, patient, and ready to continue her training and give her the structure she needs, Posie will return your dedication with endless heart. We are committed to finding the perfect match for Posie to set her—and her future family—up for success. If you're interested, we’d love to talk and set up a time for you to meet her with guidance from her trainer.
