Story
Keyser is a 2.5 yr old pure bread German Shepherd neutered male. We picked him up from a breeder in Missouri when he was approx. 10 weeks old. We had a Shepherd years ago and wanted to try another one. We are now living in a closer subdivision then previously and he is a Shepherd through and through. As in, barks at perimeter people and animals. This is what we listed as a "behavioral problem". He has become better as we have worked with him but we don't feel this is the best environment for him. The only health issue he has is that he has an overbite (has not caused any issues as of yet - teeth seem to be adjusting and not growing into upper pallet). Keyser is very good with children and we have another dog in our house. He is very playful still and our older dog needs to get a break from him from time to time. He is extremely loyal and protective of his entire clan (typical shepherd). All in all a good dog.

Story
We typically write these notes from the animal`s perspective, but for Nala, we have to write it from an advocacy perspective. This lovely dog has been through a lot, including losing her home and having her owner abandon her. She is very fearful of new people, but has never made a move to be in any way aggressive, she just looks to escape from the scary situation. We also don`t know what happened to her in her life to make her so fearful of other dogs, but she is literally terrified of them. For that reason she needs to be in a quiet and safe home with no kids and no other dogs. We don`t know how she would be with cats but, here at the shelter, she seemed like she also just wanted to avoid them. When she gets to know you, you will be blessed to see the lovliness of her gentle soul in your life.

Story
Hiro is a 45 lbs, 7 year old, German Shepherd mix that lost his home (along with his two canine siblings) when his family moved and didn’t take them. Since coming to CO, Hiro joined a fun foster family with other dogs and kiddos. He’s in heaven! Hiro is adjusting well, but we think he would appreciate a more mature home. He’s active and adventurous and will do well with an active home and a fenced in yard. He’s house and crate trained. Hiro enjoys playing with his canine foster siblings and snuggling on the couch with his foster moms. You can also find him sprawling across the bed in his best “paint me like a french girl” pose. Hiro is being fostered in Parker, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/hiro/. Story
Meet Mulan, a Disney princess right here in Colorado! This gorgeous, 2 year old, Shepherd mix weighs in at a sleek 68 lbs. Mulan joins us from a high intake shelter in New Mexico that recently experienced even higher intake numbers due to the fires and flooding in the area, making it imperative to move dogs out! She was a shelter favorite with her friends there and has proven to be a favorite here in the mile high, too! Mulan is dog friendly and seems to be fine with dogs of all sizes. She’s a super smart girl, crate trained, and uses the dog door to potty outside like a good pup. Mulan will appreciate a home with a doggie friend or a human that’s around often to spend time with her – she likes attention in true Disney princess fashion. If you melt looking into her eyes like we did, don’t hesitate to get your application in ASAP! Mulan is being fostered in Bennett, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/mulan/. Story
Derpty derp, Ranger alert! Ranger is a goofy, playful, awkwardly big, 5.5 month old German Shepherd mix. He joined MHCR from a small, rural shelter in Texas. When Ranger was found, he had a tiny collar around his neck likely from when he was a young puppy. It was deeply embedded into his skin and when it was removed a horrible wound was revealed. Ranger did nothing but lick faces and wag his tail while his wounds were tended, too. His resilience is why we’ve all come to adore canine companions. He’s nearly fully healed now and has joined a great foster home where he plays with canine friends, hangs with the human toddler, and is even trying to build up his courage to befriend the cat (they’re scary, ya know)! Ranger is crate trained, seems house trained, treat motivated, and enjoys prancing around like a gazelle – albeit without the grace and with bigger feet. There’s not much to love about this big boy and we’re sure you’ll agree! He’s already 35 lbs and we suspect he will grow to be over 75 lbs. Ranger is being fostered in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/ranger/. Story
Mebe is a 10 year old GS. we recently lost her sister and she is lonely. She’s an outside dog and has a heated shed in the winter. I am relocating for a job that came up suddenly and need her adopted asap (by Saturday July 13) Very hard decision but I know she needs a family with another dog to keep her company. I appreciate anyone who wants an older dog but still has energy.
