Story
Hello, my name is Moonlight, and I am guessed to be around 3 years old. I'm a short gal, well short & stocky. I weigh 47#s. I'm guessed to be a Pocket Pittie mixed with a little Bulldog. I was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter. Shelter folks recognized I had babies, but I had no puppies with me. How I became a stray nobody knows. I waited for my owner to come look for me. Shelter folks were shocked that nobody came for me because I'm such a good girl. Every day for months I looked out my kennel thinking my owner is coming. Volunteers would come to walk me, and I would look around for my Humans. The nice people who took me for walks would tell me these 2 words: One day. One day. I didn't know what that meant. One day my family comes back for me? Then one day as I was being walked back into my kennel I ran into a TAR volunteer and her son. My "one day" got better because when I saw that young boy I got very excited. Maybe in my past my family had kids and I thought that boy is going to get me back to my family. He didn't because he said, "you are coming home with us." So, I got my Freedom Ride to my foster home, and I still hear the words "one day". When I cuddle with that young boy, he tells me "One day I am going to have a family again". Oh, I know that word family and I get very excited. I trust this young boy because he's the one who helped me get out of the shelter. He's the one who takes me for walks, cuddles with on the couch and gives me good treats. I show him the tricks I know and when I lay by his feet and snore, I make him laugh. I'm a quiet girl (except for my snoring) and love Humans, dogs and ignore the cats. I really am a people person. It's hard to tell by my pictures but my coloring is so pretty. I have a nice shiny, chocolate brown coat. Think of a deep, rich chocolate bar minus the calories. Speaking of calories, I'm kinda hefty but that makes me more enduring. I'm a real Lady and I don't make messes in the house. I know to do my business outside and at nighttime I can go into a crate, lay by your bed or if I can really wish sleep with you but heads up .... I snore. I can't wait for my family to come meet me one day. I hope I never have to be a stray again. I hope I can have a family that will take me for walks and car rides. I'm a special gal that will warm your heart. Everyone who meets me just loves me. Will you love me? Let's meet! Moonlight Moonlightis located in our foster home in Aurora. Story
Hi there, my name is Vanessa and I'm about 10 months old. I'm a really pretty young gal. If you have seen my pictures my coat is a reversed brindle. My Rescuers are guessing at my breed because sadly when I was found as a stray, I had no history about me. So, if you had to guess my breeding I'm a Cattle dog maybe mixed with Pitbull. What does that mean? I'm your All-American Mutt but I'm a smart All-American Mutt. As I mentioned I was found as a stray. I didn't know where my home was, so the AC Handlers brought me to a TN shelter. From there, I went on a van that they call the Freedom Ride. It's where a bunch of doggies and kitties drive for like forever up North. I saw my foster Mom when she opened the van, and I wasn't scared. I knew right then I my future is going to be much better than what I had in TN. I'm in a foster home that has other foster dogs that are close to my age or size, and we play all day long. We sleep in our own crates and I'm a good girl and don't make a mess. I will give out a yip or a bark when I need to go potty. I love getting my food in my crate and I look for more when the other dogs are done. Who would have thought being a foster doggie I would be so pampered. Speaking of being pampered, my foster Mom took me to the doggie vet and I woo-ed everyone. They thought I had a really pretty coat and they thought I was silly when I gave them kisses or did tricks for my treats. I know SIT and give PAW. My best command is "Vanessa, be pretty". Gees, that's a no brainer. I had to take a test that my doggie vet did for me and sadly the test results said I'm heartworm positive. My foster Mom said, "it's not our first time" and she made sure I went to all my doggie doctor visits for shots. I'm now all done with my heart worm treatment and the next part is for me to just chill. Sure, I'm a puppy and I get my occasional zoomies but I'm a chill gal. I like to lounge around on the couch or by your feet. I get to play with all the doggies here and there's cats too. I ignore the cats. I watch the other dogs get into their food or litterbox but not me - I rather play with dogs or my own toys. I love playing with a ball or a stuffed animal. I don't think I had any of those great toys when I lived in TN. I've been around kids and oh boy, do I like them. One day I am going to have a forever family of my own. While I wait for my family I will play with the other dogs and learn new things. I'm sure I'm going to get cuter. I weigh 42# now so I might grow up to be a medium-large size girl. Some might call that stocky. When I meet my forever family we can go for a walk, and I will show how well I listen and walk on a leash. Maybe when you bring me to your house, I will have my own doggie bed, or I can curl up on your lap when you watch TV. I will always be your loyal pup because you chose me and I promise to make you laugh. Can't wait to meet you! Vanessa Vanessa's heartworm: She completed the heart worm protocol of injections & medication. Now, she just needs to be on low activity for 3-6 months. Easy for this girl because she's not very active unless of course you give her belly rubs! Please do not stop Vanessa's heartworm prognosis stop you from adopting this amazing Beauty. Story
Hi there! My name is San Francisco and I'm part of the California litter. California? Did I come from CA? No, our Mommy's name is Cali(fornia) so that's how we got our names. We were born in our foster home on 2/21/2024. We are so lucky to be born in a warm, loving foster home vs a shelter. Our Mama took really good care of us, and she told us it's time for us to find our forever family because her days of taking care of us is over. I love to play - hello! I'm a puppy. I'm going to grow up to be a big boy I already weigh 9#s at 9 weeks of age and Mama weighs 65#. We don't know who our Daddy is. I think he was just a boy from the neighborhood who came to visit one day. I am going to grow up to be a big boy and I can't wait to have a family of my own. My foster Mom tells us CA puppies that we better be extra cute for when our family's come look at us. I hope my family will teach me all the things' puppies need to learn. Walking on leash, potty training and puppy training! Can't wait to meet you! Love, San Francisco San Francisco and his siblings are located in our foster home in Aurora.
