Story
Meet Happy – A Deaf Pocket Pittie with the Biggest Smile and an Even Bigger Heart! Happy is a one-year-old pocket Pittie who truly lives up to her name. She brings joy wherever she goes, greeting her people each morning with an adorable happy dance and her signature smile, complete with the cutest little underbite. At just 36 pounds, Happy is the perfect size for snuggling. Her favorite place to be is right beside her people—whether that's curled up on your lap, relaxing on the couch, or faithfully supervising your morning routine from the bathmat. She forms strong bonds with her humans and would love a family that can spend plenty of time with her, whether at home or out on adventures together. Because Happy is deaf, she experiences the world a little differently. Her foster family gently wakes her using scents (American cheese is her favorite wake-up call!), and she has proven to be an incredibly smart and adaptable girl. She already knows hand signals for sit, come, no, down, spin, and touch and is eager to continue learning. Happy would do best as the only pet in the home. Without hearing, she can sometimes struggle to read other dogs' body language, and larger dogs can be intimidating for her. She would thrive with older children (10+) who can understand and respect her unique needs. One thing that surprises everyone about Happy is her walking style. Despite being a young dog, she strolls at her own leisurely pace and is quite possibly the slowest walker you'll ever meet! She never pulls on leash, though she may occasionally decide she's perfectly content standing still and taking in the scenery. Outside is one of Happy's favorite places to be. She loves lounging in the sunshine, exploring the yard with her nose, and enjoying the fresh air. When she's ready to come back inside, she'll make sure you know. Happy is also a world-class entertainer. Between her piggy grunts, owl-like squeaks, goofy expressions, and hilarious habit of tossing vegetables and toys around the house, she keeps everyone laughing. Watching her play with broccoli, green beans, or her beloved giant Lamb Chop toy is guaranteed to brighten your day. Crate training and learning that her people always come back have taken some time, but Happy has made tremendous progress. She now sleeps peacefully through the night and settles much more easily during the day. Happy is looking for a forever family that will appreciate her quirky personality, celebrate her accomplishments, and love her exactly as she is. In return, she'll provide endless smiles, unwavering devotion, and more laughter than you can imagine. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a joyful spirit and a heart of gold, Happy is ready to meet you.
