Story
Welcome Gunner to the FHL Family! Gunner was found on Kennedy Road in Thomasville off of 109 and is a 50-pound Pit mix. He jumped into his foster's truck like he was meant to be in it. He's super friendly, loves to sunbathe, chew on his rope, and is a big fan of treats. Gunner loves to cuddle and sit in your lap. He is quiet in the car, and doesn't bark too much, unless his foster dad gets on the lawn mower. Gunner is neutered, housetrained, kennel trained, and does well with other dogs. So far, he doesn't seem to be a big fan of cats. He is heartworm positive and has started on his treatment, in which our rescue will be paying for until he is negative. Story
Meet Joe, who originally came to us from the Rowan County Animal Shelter. Joe is a 1–2-year-old, 52 lb., German Shepherd. He has had all of shots is neutered and is microchipped. He came to us as rescue only due to fear issues. He is not aggressive in any way, nor does he shake / tremble. He is just nervous. Joe was adopted from us several months ago, but unfortunately, he stayed out in the yard because the adopters said they couldn't catch him, so they just left him out. The adopters returned him back to us on 12/30/23. Joe gets along well with all sized dogs and is social. While in foster care before he got adopted, he had started wagging his tail and socializing but now with the previous adopters not really working with him he's back to being shut down again. He will need time to adjust and get comfortable with his new home and does require a 6 ft. fence and having another dog (for companionship) in the family. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful boy, please send us your email address to obtain an Adoption Application.

Story
Meet Butch, who comes to us from the Rowan County Animal Shelter. Butch is a 7-month-old Pit mix and was pulled from the shelter on his last day. Butch is the best. He snuggles, is a weighted blankie, gives soft kisses, is always trying to play with the neighbors, patiently waits for treats after he goes potty, gets excited when he sees the kids so he can get rubs and kisses, and gets under the covers to snuggle even more. Butch is so smart and sweet with a pittie face on a compact body. Like a Pittie, he absolutely loves people. He will let you know when he needs to potty, and when it's time to play with his favorite toy. Butch would thrive with someone with another pup that loves to tug a toy and wrestle and enjoys cuddling with his humans. He also requires a fenced-in yard. This guy deserves a great home that will give him the love he gives back. If you are interested, please reach out to us to obtain an Adoption Application.
