Hi! I`m Blue, and if you`re looking for a loyal sidekick who`s equal parts playful, handsome, and ready for adventure, I think we should meet. I came to the shelter through no fault of my own, and while that`s in the past now, I`m looking forward to finding a family that`s ready to make me part of theirs.I already know a few of the important things, like sit, down, and paw, and I`m much more interested in playing with you than working for snacks. Toss me a tennis ball, give me some attention, and you`ve got my full focus! I`m a young guy with lots of energy, so I`d love an active home where we can explore, play, learn new things, and keep both my brain and my legs busy. I walk pretty well on leash, though I can get excited and pull a bit sometimes, so I`d love a family that`s willing to keep working on my leash skills.I`m a friendly fellow who loves meeting both people and other dogs. I had a blast making a new dog friend here at the shelter, and I think having a playful canine sibling could be a lot of fun. As for cats, I might be able to live with a confident, dog-savvy one if introductions are slow and carefully managed, but I do have a habit of wanting to chase squirrels and bunnies outside, so I`d prefer a home without small animals. I should also do well with dog-savvy kids who are comfortable around a big, enthusiastic guy like me.If you`re looking for a sweet, social best friend who`s always up for a game, a hike, or just hanging out together, I think I might be your Blue-tiful match.

Story
Meet Adonis, a sweet, gentle boy who is just waiting for someone to show him how wonderful life can be.Adonis can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, his softer side starts to shine. He loves attention, is very food motivated, and is happiest when he can take things at his own pace. He walks beautifully on leash, enjoys car rides, and has been incredibly patient and tolerant with the people caring for him at the shelter.Adonis has spent much of his life living outdoors, so he’ll be happiest in a home with a secure yard where he can ease into indoor life. His new family should be ready to gently help him learn things like housetraining and crate training while he adjusts to being a beloved house dog.He is dog selective and will need thoughtful, gradual introductions to other dogs. He is not a match for a home with cats or small animals. Older children would be best for Adonis, as his size means he could accidentally knock over little ones.Adonis is heartworm positive and will need to complete his treatment and stay on preventative. His adopters will also receive support from our behaviour team to help him settle in and make introductions at his own pace. This boy may not rush up and ask you to be his best friend right away. He may need a little patience, a little understanding, and someone willing to let trust grow naturally. But underneath that shy exterior is a loving dog who wants a person of his own. Adonis deserves the chance to finally know what it feels like to be home.

Story
Hi, I’m Kiara, a sweet GSD mix who is still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place.I can be pretty shy when I first meet someone or find myself in a new situation. I may hang back, keep my tail low, or watch carefully from a distance while I figure things out. Please don’t take it personally if I need some time before I’m ready to say hello. I do best when people are patient, gentle, and let me come forward at my own pace. Once I feel comfortable, you’ll see what a loving girl I really am. Treats and attention are two of my favourite things, and I already know how to sit!I’m a sensitive girl, so calm and predictable surroundings will help me feel confident. New doorways, hallways, elevators, and unfamiliar places can make me nervous, and sometimes I need a little extra space and encouragement to move through them. I’ve also had some moments of barking at people or dogs while on leash when I’m feeling unsure. I’m not looking for trouble—I’m just still learning how to handle big feelings in a big world. A well-fitted harness and a patient person who can calmly guide me will help me succeed.I’ve lived with another dog before, and while I can be reserved when meeting new dogs, I’ve shown some sweet little glimpses that I’d like to interact and maybe even play once I feel safe. A calm, friendly, confident canine companion could potentially help me build my confidence, but I’ll need introductions to happen slowly and on my terms. I’m currently considered dog selective. Cats are unknown, so any feline friends would need to be introduced very carefully and be comfortable around dogs.I’ve also lived with young children before and could potentially do well with kids again, as long as they understand that I need time, space, and gentle interactions. I’d really appreciate a family who is willing to listen to my body language and let me tell them when I’m ready for more.I’m apartment-friendly and have lived in one before. I was previously trained to use potty pads in my crate, so my new family should be prepared to help me learn that outside is the place to go. I also love car rides, which is pretty handy because I’m hoping my next adventure is a forever home.If you’re looking for a gentle, sensitive girl who just needs someone to show her that she’s safe, I might be your girl. Give me a little time, a lot of patience, and plenty of tasty treats, and I’ll show you just how sweet I can be.
