This handsome 5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier mix is ready to find his forever home. Buckley is a friendly guy who loves people, especially older kids. He will do best in a calm, patient environment where he will receive exercise to burn off his energy. Buckley might be open to sharing his space with other dogs, but cats are probable not a good fit for him. He's a very smart boy who knows commands like sit, shake, down, and stay. When he's not showing off his tricks, Buckley loves going for walks, cuddling up with his favorite humans, and playing with his ball and toys. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with love, Buckley might just be the perfect match! He really is a wonderful dog. A fenced yard is strongly recommended for him, as he loves to chase wildlife. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Styx was part of an unplanned litter in Detroit. While her breed mix would suggest she’d be a bigger dog, the vet thinks she’ll stay on the smaller side of medium as an adult. A perfect size to snuggle up next to you on the couch without taking up too much space. &#226&#128&#139Styx watched as her three littermates found their forever homes. Why them and not her? While they all came into rescue under-socialized, she was the most shy and timid around new people. She shies away from being pet until you have entered her circle of trust (this will take days/weeks, not minutes/hours), and will bark when she’s uncomfortable with a new person in her home. Her future forever family will need to be patient and likely do several meet-ups to build trust before adoption. She does warm up pretty quickly to new dog friends, so a home with a confident dog sibling to help her learn the ropes would be ideal! We do not know how she’d do with cats. To help Styx overcome her ‘Stranger Danger’ mindset, she has started SSRI medication and is doing in-home training sessions to learn how to better manage her anxiety. She’s already showing a lot of progress, but will still prefer a quieter home without a lot of people coming and going. Once Styx trusts you, she’s a wonderful, loving, snuggly companion! She’s very treat-motivated and smart, making her easy to train. She has some bursts of puppy energy, but is overall a pretty chill dog who happily settles on the couch or in her crate for nap time. She loves to play fetch with toys inside. Outside, she tends to get more distracted by all the smells, but does happily engage in a game of chase with her doggy playmate. She rarely barks at anything outside of the house (animals, people, cars, etc.) and is past the put-everything-in-your-mouth stage of puppyhood. While Styx makes it hard for you to earn her trust, the effort will be rewarded with lots of love and loyalty.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello, my name is Charlie. I’m a friendly, loving, energetic three-year-old neutered male who loves to cuddle. My hobbies include going for long walks, running in the yard, playing tug-a-war, and playing catch. I love to play, but at the end of the day, I love nothing more than a comfy place to cuddle next to my mom or dad. I also really enjoy giving hugs! I do better hanging out and playing with older kids. I’m house-trained and crate-trained. I love positive reinforcement when learning new instructions and tricks. I prefer all the attention so I would do best in a home where I am the only pet. I am a great companion and my perfect home would be with a family that is active and can give me the love and attention I need. If you’re looking for a dog to go on adventures during the day and a great cuddle bug at night I am your guy! ***PLEASE NOTE:  This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization and does not belong to Last Day Dog Rescue.  Applications will be forwarded to the animals foster.***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 5, 2025, 4:39 pm
