Good with kids, Not good with dogs,
Story
Storm is a very loving dog that is looking for a new home as my family and I will be moving soon. She is used to being outside in a big yard and she does not do very well with being contained in small areas. She would be a very good dog for someone who has no dogs and a tall fence. She’s a good family friendly pet. She does not get along well with other dogs but she is very sweet to humans and kids and would be a great dog for protection. Located in Dinwiddie, VA

Story
Stampede is looking for a soft place to land. His foster situation is changing, and this incredibly smart, loyal boy is ready to find a family of his own. He is one of the most intelligent dogs we have ever had come through our program, with so much love to give the right person. This is a dog who watches everything, files it away, and works out exactly how the world around him fits together. He is a puzzle solver, always learning and happiest when he has a job to do. Give him enrichment, give him a good walk, give him a puzzle bowl to figure out, and then watch him settle right into your lap when it is time to wind down. Stampede is athletic and full of energy, built for adventure and ready for a person who wants a partner in it. Even better, Stampede is currently in a board and train program polishing his good manners, and he graduates in just a couple of weeks. He would love nothing more than someone to learn all of his new tricks right beside him. Stampede does great with other dogs and loves older kids. He has big feelings and big enthusiasm, so a home without very young children would suit him best. He is neutered, crate trained, housebroken, and heartworm negative. He has been patient. He has been good. He has been everything we could ask of him while he waits. Now we are asking you. Could Stampede be yours? To meet Stampede or learn more about him, email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com.

Story
Hershey had the kind of start no dog deserves. At around 10 months old, he was dumped and left to fend for himself. Lucky for him, a kind family found him that same evening, took him in, and he has been soaking up love in their foster home ever since. Hershey is a pit mix puppy, about 45 pounds and still filling out. He is a goofy, happy adolescent who wants nothing more than all the love and all the attention, preferably at the same time. He appears to be fully potty trained and has had no accidents in his foster home. He gets along well with the other dogs there, and his neuter will be scheduled soon, which should help settle some of his rowdy teenage behavior. About those teenage manners: Hershey is a boisterous young pup who was clearly never taught the basics, so his new family should be ready to invest in training. He is sweet, eager for attention, and wants to please, and with structure and love he is going to be a spectacular dog. Because of his bouncy energy, we recommend a home with kids over the age of 10. He has not yet been tested with cats, but a cat test is planned soon, so ask us for an update. Hershey has puppy energy to spare and would thrive with a family that likes to hike, take long walks, or include their dog in daily adventures. Give this sweet boy the love and training he deserves and he will pay you back a thousand times over. Hershey is receiving his vaccines and will be neutered soon. He is in foster care through Petersburg Animal Care and Control in Petersburg, Virginia. If you are interested in adopting Hershey, please email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com.
