Story
🔥 Meet Phoenix — A True Love Bug 🔥 Phoenix is a 3-year-old pit bull with a heart full of love and a serious talent for cuddling. She absolutely adores people and just wants to be by your side — preferably soaking up sunshine or snoozing near her favorite human. She has lived successfully with older children (ages 10 & 12) and has been introduced to a 4-year-old, doing wonderfully with all of them. Phoenix is gentle, affectionate, and thrives on human companionship. In everyday life, Phoenix is a great balance of playful and relaxed. She gets short bursts of energy (hello, 5-minute zoomies!) and then is perfectly content to lounge for the rest of the day. Her favorite toy is a stuffed sheep. She’s not destructive and prefers to gently nibble her toys rather than shred them. Phoenix has been going on daily walks with her foster parents and has made great progress with her leash manners. She can be left alone in the house for extended periods. She currently sleeps on her dog bed in the main living space but would happily share a bed with her human if invited. She is a quick learner and eager to please. Phoenix bell-trained herself to go outside in just one day and has learned several commands in foster care. While she is not fully crate trained, her fosters have started positive crate introductions and she is doing well so far. Phoenix will need to be an only dog. She comes from a home where she was regularly attacked by another dog, so she can be skittish and defensive around unfamiliar dogs. Because of this, her forever home should be with someone experienced, patient, and committed to continuing her confidence-building. Phoenix doesn’t need to be a “go everywhere, do everything” kind of dog. She’s happiest at home, in a calm, predictable environment, and with time and positive experiences her confidence will continue to grow. She has successfully done side-by-side leash work with other dogs and is making steady, encouraging progress. If you’re looking for a devoted companion, a snuggle partner, and a dog who will bond deeply with her person — Phoenix might be your perfect match.
