Story
MEET DIME Dime is an 8 month old shepard mix rescued near the Semiahmoo resort near Bellingham WA. He and his brother Nickel, along with their mom Penny and her brand new litter of 11, were rescued and brought into the care of Happy Tails fosters around the end of April. Dime is a sweet and loveable goofball who aims to please and loves pets. He is very food motivated and has been a joy to train. He is great with other dogs and will continue to learn how to behave and live with cats. He is easy to correct and will be a great dog to train and grow with. Dime has been an off leash roam around free dog for most of his life but has quickly adapted well to living in a home and getting better and better on the leash. Dime would do well in a loving home environment with an owner or family that has the time and capacity to train him and help him continue to grow into a great dog. His mom was a shepherd mix around 40 pounds and so he should be a great family size dog. If you are interested in providing a forever home for this sweet and playful guy, please fill out an application at happytailshappyhomes.org.

Story
Hi Everyone, my name is Dallas! IT IS SO NICE TO MEET YOU!! I am 45lbs of PURE LOVE!!! I am about 1-2 years old, not sure, time flies when you're a teen mom! A very nice lady pulled me and my babies from the shelter right after they put this ugly red tag on my kennel....I think it means I was meant for something really special! BEING IN A HOUSE IS SO AWESOME!!! They have this huuuuge bed that I get to sleep in with my foster mom and foster sister, this is the life!!! It is hard to remember my life before, but I don't think I have ever seen a place like this! I'm slowly getting to know what the kitchen is, its so hard because sometimes theres yummy food sitting on the counters, so me and my foster mom are working on this thing called "Patience", not sure, I'll report back when I get more info on that one. One of my favorite things to do after I let my food settle for a bit is play with my foster sister! She has taught me so many cool games like fetch, tug, and WRESTLE!!! My signature move is to leap from the couch and bodyslam my opponent into the floor, so wherever I go I would love a fur buddy that will help me grow my WWE career!!!! Sometimes the little humans try to wrestle with me....but honestly they are rookies, and sometimes my pro-level moves are too advanced for them. Im sure it would be a fair fight once they grow up a bit, but my mom says that my forever home maybe shouldn't have any rookie opponents so that I can keep my eyes on the gold!!! After we wrestle for a bit, my foster mom takes us outside, and she waits by the door for me because she knows that I will climb the fence to come and find her like the loyal and loving pup that I am!!! Also, this "potty training" stuff is easy peasy, I've almost mastered it, and even though I CAN stay allllll day in my crate, my foster mom says that she is gonna try to find me a very active family that is home for most of the day so that I can have some outside time every few hours. My foster mom tells me that wherever my future family is, they will need to have brothers and sisters that look just like me. I overheard her saying something about how my new mommy or daddy will have experience with my breed, and that I will need lots of training because she thinks that even though I am a mom, I am still a puppy myself! I am excited to learn new tricks every day, my foster sister and I are such smart cookies! My foster mom has taught me sit and down, and she keeps trying to teach me this thing called OFF? We are still working on that one...its not very fun because I just want to jump up in my foster moms arms 24/7 to show her how much I love her, but she tells me that I am getting better and better every day!!!! Sometimes it is hard for me to control how much love I have for people, so be prepared for lots of hugs when you finally get to meet me!!!! If I could describe my perfect forever home, I would get to spend all day busy doing activities and learning with my mom and dad close by my side. My foster mom says that my anxiety is lower if I have fun games and activities to keep me busy and focused! My foster mom also says I am a bit clingy, but think about how awesome it would be if we could spend all day together, we could go hiking, play fetch , snuggle, and then do it all over again tomorrow!!! I'll make sure that you get up on time, I pride myself in being a morning dog! I'm down for pretty much anything except car rides, my tummy gets a bit upset....its kinda embarrassing....BUT I will make it up to you by showing you how much fun we can have without a car! lf you can dream it, we can do it TOGETHER!!! Even though I didn't have a great start in life, I have SO MUCH LOVE FOR THE WORLD!!! I can't wait to see the rest of it with YOU!!!! Story
Meet our sweet and affectionate Puppy Lopez who melts hearts with her gentle nature and loving personality. This pup has a remarkable ability to form an instant bond with anyone she meets, making her an ideal companion for anyone looking to adopt her. In her current foster home, this charming girl has seamlessly integrated into a pack of three dogs, showcasing her exceptional social skills and compatibility with fellow canines. They have become fast friends, enjoying playful romps and cozy snuggle sessions together. Although she hasn’t had the opportunity to interact with children just yet, her natural friendliness give us every reason to believe she will effortlessly extend her love and warmth to young ones, creating lasting memories and unforgettable moments. As for her potty training, she has made remarkable progress and is well on her way to mastering it. With minimal accidents, she demonstrates a commendable effort to maintain cleanliness and adapt to her surroundings. When it comes to downtime, she eagerly retreats to her crate, finding comfort and security within its confines. Whether sleeping soundly or enjoying some quiet alone time, she demonstrates an excellent understanding of boundaries and respect for her surroundings. With her charming personality, harmonious interactions with dogs, ongoing potty training, and a knack for crate independence, our foster puppy is ready to find her perfect match! Story
Meet Daisy Mae! https://youtu.be/ndPxxkGufzM?si=pGKhYVCCgjLI00al She is a 1 year old white German Shepherd and Coonhound mix. She is about 50 lbs and will probably be about 55 lbs once she is full grown. Her story started out kind of sad, as do most rescues. When she was just a little pup, she was found in a rural area near a barn where the owner’s dog had recently had a litter of puppies. It appeared that just like a lot of rescues, she had been dumped. She found herself right at home amongst the litter, but the owner of the other dog could not keep her. At that time, she was still very tiny and just a little fluff ball. She needed a home at that point and a family decided to take her in. She has lived with this family who is continuing to foster her, but decided she needed a different kind of life that work schedules just couldn’t provide. Daisy currently lives with her foster mom and her younger son. She adores kids and is a typical Shepherd and is a great protector! She is also very comical. When her foster mom got a trampoline for the back yard, she went outside and promptly found her on the trampoline trying it out! She likes to get on the trampoline by herself or be your jumping partner. One of her other favorite games is “hiding and pouncing.” She will creep up from the the distance in slo mo, and promptly land in your lap to get some attention. She is extremely affectionate and incredibly sweet, and loves to give kisses and hugs. Even though she is not technically a “water dog”, she goes crazy for the water hose. She will go outside and sit patiently by it to see if I will turn it on and then she loves to grab it. She also loves watching TV like Cartoons, the Rodeo and the Animal Planet. She would do fabulous in a home that included water activities! Daisy Mae is a very typical white German Shepherd. As a working breed, she loves to be busy. She has been working on her obedience skills and continues to improve as she matures. She attended a week training class where she learned to walk well on a leash, and basic commands. She of course is still a puppy and has a lot to learn, but she is very eager to please. She is completely housebroken and crate trained. She has been socialized with dogs, large and small and does very well in play groups. She has been cat tested as well and gets along well with felines. Her ideal forever home would include a family that was active to take her hiking, running, and camping. This is why the PNW is so appealing to Daisy. She would make a fabulous partner to go on these types of outings. She has a lot of energy but can also be very chill and lay with you on the couch to relax. She is currently being fostered in Texas and is eager to start her new life with her forever family. She would make a wonderful only dog or additional friend to add to your pack. Please consider giving Daisy a chance at this wonderful life, she will make an incredible addition to any family. Story
Hi, I am Calhoun! Joyful, innocent, goofy, affectionate. I am a two- to three-year-old 70 pound Shepherd in search for my forever home. I am a very sweet and loving boy and have been in my foster home for a few months. My foster dad knows me very well and has a lot of nice things to say about me. Foster dad is especially impressed with my ability to get along with all other dogs, and to defuse any situation where other dogs may start to get nervous or defensive. I just use my goofy boy behavior to interject myself and show them that everything in life is not to be taken too seriously. I roll, I jump over, I go under and I wiggle my way into their space and soon enough they realize I am right and life is to be enjoyed. My best friends Muchi and Felix and I play for many hours every day and I am the one who picks what game we are going to play – whether it is chase or wrestling or just cuddling together. See my personality here: https://youtu.be/8S1E5XorCeA Although I sometimes look awkward because I have long legs and am silly at times, I am really very athletic, loving to run fast and jump for joy regularly as I play. Foster dad loves to watch me run, as the joy I express is contagious. Besides being such a playful boy, I am also very good in the house - I am crate-trained, walk well on leash, enjoy car rides, and love children. I crate up on my own and stay quiet in my crate. I love my crate. I am looking for a forever home where I can be an integral part of the family. I love being with my people very much and hope that we can go on lots of adventures together. Once we bond, I will do very well off leash on adventures, as I want to be with you and have great recall. If you think I might be the right one for you, please do not hesitate to talk to my adoption coordinator and see if we are a good fit!
