Story
Meet Blue! This energetic 3-year-old pup (turning 4 on February 2nd) is house trained and knows a variety of commands, including sit, stay, heel, go play, go potty, come, and shake. Blue thrives on adventure-he loves long walks, playing fetch with his favorite ball or frisbee, and exploring hiking trails. A day at the dog park is his idea of a perfect day! He's looking for a home without small children or babies and needs a family that can provide plenty of exercise and playtime to match his high energy. Blue is not just fun; he's also loyal and loves cuddling with his humans after a busy day. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is great off-leash, and behaves well on a leash. Blue does have very mild sign of hip-dysplasia that is very common in German Shepards. It is currently being controlled by pet-friendly CBD. He will need someone dedicated to maintaining this mild condition.

Story
❤️‍🩹TEDDY has been up for adoption for OVER A YEAR❤️‍🩹 Meet Teddy, a 5-year-old German Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Teddy’s journey hasn’t been easy—his body carries scars, and his ears were damaged before he ever knew kindness. But this goofy, gregarious boy has come so far, and he’s ready for a home that will continue building his trust. 🐾 What makes Teddy special:     •    Full of character—playful, curious, and downright hilarious at times     •    Crate trained, muzzle trained, and happy to entertain himself (no separation anxiety here!)     •    Thrives in nosework and would love fun hobbies like tracking or detection games     •    Malleable in training—he loves working with people he trusts     •    Loyal, loving, and bonds deeply once he knows you ⚡ Things to know:     •    Needs a stable home with only one or two consistent handlers—too many people can overwhelm him     •    Cautious with new people—needs slow introductions and respectful space     •    Best as an only focused dog in the home     •    No cats, no small animals, no kids     •    No male dogs; might be able to pair with one solid, mellow, playful female dog if the fit is right     •    Would not do well with another dog that shares his same guarded tendencies—he needs good role models     •    In training now and continuing to build confidence every day 🏡 Ideal Home:     •    Patient adopters committed to continuing his training with professional support     •    A calm, structured environment where his world stays predictable and safe     •    Someone looking for a loyal companion and maybe a fun sport-dog partner in nosework or tracking Teddy has been overlooked for far too long, but we know his person is out there—the one who sees past his scars and recognizes the incredible dog he is. If you are interested in welcoming this sweet boy into your family and giving him the love and patience he deserves, please apply at happytailshappyhomes.org. 🐾❤️

**LOLA IS NOT IN THE DIRECT CARE OF HAPPY TAILS HAPPY HOMES. Her owners are needing to rehome her and we are assisting in that process. If you are interested in Lola, please fill out an application here: https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform ** Meet Lola! 🐾 Birthday: April 15, 2019 🐶 Spayed, microchipped & up-to-date on vaccines Lola is the sweetest, goofiest pup who has brought so much joy to her family. She’s always been wonderful with kids and has had many happy years alongside another dog. Recently, however, she’s had unprovoked issues with their senior pup, likely brought on by the stress of a cross-country move. Because her family must prioritize the health and safety of their 15-year-old dog, they’re looking for a new home where Lola can continue to thrive. Lola is a playful, eager-to-please girl who loves fetch, running, squeaky toys, and even the occasional game of tug-of-war. After playtime, she’s a pro at finding the silliest positions to nap in—bonus points if it’s a sunny spot! She’s great with kids of all ages, typically warms up to strangers after a few minutes, and has done well boarding in the past. While she may need to be an only pet, she’ll be the happiest companion for an active family with room to run and plenty of love to give. Lola is crate trained (she sees it as her safe space) and house trained, though she may have an accident if not kept on a routine. She can be a little strong on leash but settles in after a few blocks. She’s food-motivated, smart, and ready to learn. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, loyal companion to join your family’s adventures—and cuddle up afterward—Lola could be the perfect match!

Story
Meet Nellie! Nellie is a sweet 2-year-old German Shepherd who has already been through so much in her young life. She was first found living under a freeway in Oregon and taken to a shelter, where she landed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, she was saved by a loving family and enjoyed a happy year with them. Sadly, when that family—a mom and her three kids—lost their home and were living in a tent, they faced the impossible choice of giving Nellie up in order to move into housing that didn’t allow dogs. It was a heartbreaking decision, as Nellie was deeply loved, and they still call to check on her to this day. When they reached out for help, we knew we had to step in for this special girl. Nellie is shy at first and can be nervous in new situations, but she warms up quickly and bonds deeply with her people. She especially adores children—she lived with three kids (ages 6–13) in her previous home and was gentle and loving with them. Nellie has also lived peacefully with both cats and dogs. She does great with *DOG SAVVY CATS* she likes to play and chase and that’s not for every cat/home. She is crate trained, non-destructive in the home, and rides nicely in the car. Busy roads can make her nervous, but she enjoys training and has even done well in group training classes. Nellie is looking for a patient adopter who can help her continue to build confidence and show her that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who just needs a safe place to land, Nellie may be the perfect match for you! 📩 To apply to adopt Nellie, visit happytailshappyhomes.org.

Story
HI - I'M OTTO! I'm a 1-year-old handsome German Shepherd in need of a foster or forever home. I was rescued from a Southern California shelter in the nick of time. The shelter was full! I am very friendly with people but am just a little head-shy with the leash, though I am getting much better. I walk well on a leash, I love human attention and affection, and I love to play with toys. I am a gentle, sweet boy who would love a new home soon. I weigh about 58 lbs. I have done well around other dogs so far. Please email for an application.
