Story
Meet Carmy!
Age: Adult
Weight: 50 pounds
Housetrained: yes
Crate trained: I don't do well in crates and the stress of being in one makes my tummy upset.
Good with: Dogs, older, respectful kids (I love the kiddos!)
Special needs: I have separation anxiety, so I take meds to help me feel better
I'm a super happy and energetic boy and I love my humans so much! My favorite thing ever is to be outside with you – whether we are going for a walk around the neighborhood, a hike in the woods, or playing fetch in the yard. An active forever family would be so much fun!
I like to play tug of war, chew on bones, solve brain games, and shake my favorite stuffies. I am super smart (maybe a little too smart sometimes), so I love to learn new tricks for treats! I would love to be the only man in your life. 💖
Since I have separation anxiety, I'll need my medication and an understanding family that is willing to work with me as I get used to their routine. In my foster home, I am now comfortable being home by myself for up to 8 hours during the daytime, but it took me several weeks to work up to that much time alone without being stressed.
I'm a pretty quiet dude, but I do bark and jump up when I get really excited – mostly when we are about to go outside for a walk. I’ve been working on my listening skills when I’m excited or distracted and I am getting better! Treats help :)
I’m a big cuddler, but, fair warning, I will take up all your personal space on the couch or bed because I like to snuggle close. I can’t wait to find a forever family that is willing learn and grow with me. I promise to pay you back with lots of love and kisses!
Carmy is fostered in the Madison, WI area.
