Story
Rex is a 3-year-old purebred German Shepherd born October 3rd. He is intelligent, highly food motivated, and knows commands like sit, stay, and wait. He can be very loyal and affectionate once comfortable, but he struggles heavily with anxiety and reactivity. Since we had our toddler, his stress levels have become unmanageable in our home. He constantly paces, pants, digs at carpet/floors, and has even stopped eating during periods of high stress. He has nipped a toddler and is not suitable for a home with children. He is also highly dog reactive and has lunged at another dog during walks. He may do best as the only pet. This decision is heartbreaking, but our home is no longer what’s best for him. He needs an experienced owner willing to give him structure, patience, time, and consistent work. I would strongly prefer multiple meet-and-greets before placement to ensure a good fit for everyone involved.
