Story

Meadow spent months wandering the public parks of the Los Angeles Valley, surviving on her own and avoiding human contact. Locals spotted her often—many tried to help, offering food and kindness, but Meadow kept her distance. It wasn’t until she came into our care that we discovered she’d been living with an old injury, likely the reason she was so hesitant to trust. After countless attempts, Canine Rescue Club partnered with a dedicated local trapper and our incredible friend Soyoung from Dog Coalition to safely bring Meadow in. Since then, Soyoung has worked patiently and lovingly to help Meadow begin her healing journey, physically, emotionally, and socially. DOG COALITION LA is a trusted partner in rescue dog rehabilitation and rehoming. Today, Meadow is slowly learning that the world can be safe. She’s shy, gentle, and much smaller than she appears in photos. Though still cautious, there’s a softness in her eyes that says she’s ready to find love—she just needs someone she can finally trust. Meadow thrives around other dogs and finds great comfort in the presence of a pack. Her ideal home would include a canine companion (or a few) to help guide her continued transformation. With time, patience, and a calm environment, Meadow will blossom into the loyal, grateful soul we know she is. What You Should Know About Meadow: Observant, loves dogs more than anything, and clearly wants to love people too, will just take someone with a welcome, calm energy to help bring that out of her. Finn is the best dog ever. He came from a farm in Jarupa Valley, CA. He was 6 months old when we got him and is now 5 1/2. His bday is New Yeas Eve. He needs a family that has the space for a big dog. He is about 126 lbs. Yes, that big! But his heart and love for life are bigger! He loves to play and go for walks. He will keep close by your side ;) He's good at recall, sometimes in his time, but he'll never let you out of his sight. He loves the beach (his favorite), the park, anywhere he can run and play around with other dogs. He loves a good time. He has never been aggressive and is super social. Hes house trained and can hold for a long time. LOL We've loved our time with him and will miss him terribly. Finding a new family for Finn is breaking our hearts, but we truly believe there is a home out there in the world who can give him a better life than us; a home with a family and a heart as big as his who will love him like crazy and adore him as much as we have. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. • Rescue Story: Meet Koko with two charming blue eyes👋 Turning 5 months old, Koko was discovered in March 2023, trembling in front of the shelter in Korea. His previous owner had left him there with a message saying that he could no longer care for him due to personal reasons. The poor pup had been abandoned without a collar or leash. Despite his fear, Koko did not run away and remained on the spot, waiting for help. Ever since then, he’s been living in a boarding house, patiently waiting for his forever home! • Personality: Friendly, Energetic, Happy Initially, Koko was very nervous and frightened during his first days at the boarding house. However, he quickly warmed up to the staff and other dogs and is now a very happy and playful boy. Koko loves spending time with his humans, especially sitting outside on the grass and basking in the sun. His energy level is high. He would be a great fit for a family who enjoys outdoor activities and can spend ample time with him. • Affinity with - Dogs: He enjoys playing with other dogs. Can be touched when trust is built, so it's important to wait and go at his own pace. * With Dogs: Gives a warning sign such as growling when new dogs smell him or get in his face. Wags his tail and greets familiar dogs, but seems to prefer being alone to playing or hanging out with other dogs. * With Cats: Shows some aggression towards cats, so careful monitoring is needed. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed yet, since he is living with other dogs as a group at the center. * Potty Training: Uses outdoor potty only since he is staying at the center. * Hygiene: Takes baths and brushing very well. Gets nervous a bit during toenail trimming but makes no big fuss. * Walks: Is generally good at walking, but tries to chew the leash when he gets surprised by loud noises or feels tension on the leash. Attention is needed to prevent him from running away by chewing the leash. Doesn’t react much to other animals. * Nip: Growls as a warning sign if unfamiliar dogs get in his face, and may bite if they don’t stop. During one freezing winter, Danpoong gave birth to five puppies at a shelter and was soon diagnosed with mange. Adogs urgently rescued the family. 3.) Basic Information * With People: Loves people and greets familiar ones with kisses! However, he is on guard with unfamiliar people and when people make quick movements — he may bark and avoid treats. Is scared of guests, barking at them and hiding in another room. With a slow and gentle approach, he opens up quickly. * With Dogs: Is indifferent to dogs who don’t engage but approaches those who show interest in him. Gets along very well with even new canine friends. Gets along with most dogs. * With Cats: Calm around still cats and gently sniffs them, but has a lot of curiosity and tries to chase cats that run away. Might try to fight back against aggressive cats, so supervision is necessary. Tends to bark when he sees a cat passing outside the kennel. * Separation Anxiety: None. It’s best to avoid feeding him right before car rides. * Biting: Bites defensively when strangers approach and try to touch him immediately. This doesn’t seem to be out of aggression but because he’s trying to protect himself. Sometimes, he bites when being forced to do something, so caution is needed. * Barking: Is a bit gluttonous and may growl when people touch his favorite treats. Sometimes barks in fear when he hears a sudden or unfamiliar noise, but calms down quickly. * Likes: Loves treats. Comes running, sits and waits in anticipation once he hears the opening of the fridge. Loves playing tug, too! * Dislikes: Expresses discomfort by baring teeth if picked up or touched against his will. * Tricks: Is a genius who has mastered 'sit,' 'lie down,' 'paw,' 'nose' and 'V,' and understands the difference between right and left paws!
