Story
Rose is a gentle soul who takes her time getting to know new people, but once she feels safe, her sweet and loyal nature really begins to shine! She’s most comfortable when given space to settle in at her own pace, and she feels more at ease with people she’s had the chance to build trust with. Rose may need a few visits to truly warm up, but for the right person or family, she’s well worth the wait! Once Rose is your buddy, it feels like you're in a VIP club of those who really understand her. She is a sassy girl at her core, and is looking for a home that understands the chaos that runs through a Husky's bloodstream. Rose is looking for a patient and loving home that will give her the time she needs to feel comfortable, and in return she’ll give you her whole entire heart! Weight: 47 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Housebroken: Unsure, but will likely need support with housebreaking! Crate-trained: Unknown, Rose has not been crated while in our care. Leash behavior: Good! They enjoy walks and are easy to handle while on leash. Dog sociability: They like them! They enjoy the company of dog friends, but would be just as happy to be an only dog in the home. Cat sociability: Unknown! They have never met another dog while in foster care. Kid sociability: No kids, please! They are afraid of kids or reactive toward them, or they have a history of behaviors that make them incompatible with children. Likes: Hot dogs, walkies, being a silly goose Dislikes: Sharing If you’d like to meet Rose, please fill out an adoption application at animalcareleague.org/adoptions and send us an email at adoption@animalcareleague.org!

Story
Benjy is a sweet, young husky with a whole lot of personality packed into one fluffy body. He’s energetic, fun, and incredibly loving. He’s always ready to move, explore, and be part of whatever you’re doing! Benjy has done well on pack walks with another dog and would likely enjoy having a dog friend who can keep up with his energy and play style. Benjy enjoys being social, but he also really loves connecting with his people and being included. Benjy is looking for a home that understands his energy and enrichment needs, including daily exercise, mental stimulation, and quality time. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality! Weight: 62.2 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Housebroken: Working on it! They're doing well on a schedule but will have occasional accidents in the home. Crate-trained: Unknown! They have never been crated while in our care. Leash behavior: Working on it! They are still learning what the leash is all about and may have some behaviors that will require continued positive reinforcement training. Dog sociability: They like them! They enjoy the company of dog friends, but would be just as happy to be an only dog in the home. Cat sociability: They do not do well with cats! They will chase, bite, attack, or otherwise harm or frighten cats. Kid sociability: Good with older kids! They are a little too much for small kids or have a history of behaviors that are difficult to manage around smaller children, but they are fine with kids ages 13-18. Likes: Picking things up and throwing them as a joke, getting butt scritches, singing the song of his people Dislikes: Law and order If you’d like to meet Benjy, please fill out an adoption application at animalcareleague.org/adoptions and send us an email at adoption@animalcareleague.org!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hera may have crash-landed at ACL after being hit by a car, but she has not let that get her down! This smart, sassy, sweet girl has recovered from her injuries and is finally ready for her forever home. Hera loves learning and training! She's very food-motivated and eager-to-please, and she picks up new cues exceptionally quickly when rewarded with snacks. Hera likes other dogs, but she's still working on her manners when meeting them so would do best with a tolerant canine companion. Hera's fosters say "She’s the sweetest, most resilient little girl! She’s going to be a loyal companion to a very lucky person!" If you'd like to be that person, get in touch with us to meet Hera! Weight: 46 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Housebroken: Yes! They will potty outside every time or nearly every time (rarely has accidents). Crate-trained: Working on it! They will bark or vocalize for up to 30 minutes, but do eventually settle. Leash behavior: Working on it! They are still learning what the leash is all about and may have some behaviors that will require continued positive reinforcement training. Dog sociability: They like them! They enjoy the company of dog friends, but would be just as happy to be an only dog in the home. Cat sociability: Unknown! They have never met a cat while in foster care. Kid sociability: Good with older kids! They are a little too much for small kids or have a history of behaviors that are difficult to manage around smaller children, but they are fine with kids ages 13-18. Likes: Playing with her toys, going on walks, getting plenty of petting Dislikes: Being left out of the fun Hera's front right leg was amputated after being hit by a car and brought into the shelter. She has no trouble getting around on three legs, but it is very important that she be kept at a healthy weight for her entire life in order to reduce strain on her remaining joints. We recommend working with your veterinarian to monitor Hera for signs of arthritis or joint pain as she ages. If you’d like to meet Hera, please fill out an adoption application at animalcareleague.org/adoptions and send us an email at adoption@animalcareleague.org to schedule an introduction!
