Story
We got maya in September last year when she was only 2 months old. We thought we were ready to take on a puppy with 2 newborns and a 3 year old but we didn’t realize how much harder that would be. Maya obviously is still a puppy and does puppy things but she is a good dog. We just can’t take care of her anymore with 3 little ones running around it’s a lot of maintenance. She was spayed last month and up to date on shots. She will need her 1year shots when she is 1 year in July. She is potty trained. If someone would please take good care of our pretty girl, we will miss her and it’s heartbreaking for us to have to let her go. But we need someone who will be able to have the time to care for her.

Story
I’ve had Snoop for several years. I got him from a couple that didn’t realize the big challenge in caring for a high energy dog. I’d say at this point he is around 10 and he hasn’t slowed down all that much. We’ve had tons of adventures over the years and I wish I didn’t feel I needed to do this. I know that it will be the best thing for everyone. A few years ago my situation changed. I had a kid, and settled into an apartment. I thought it’d be fine but I have to leave him in a crate all day while at work. This has led to several days of frustration for me and I’m sure him. As he gets older it’s only getting worse and I’m afraid I’m not close to any real relief in terms of getting him a real yard. He deserves better than I’m able to give him. He’s a good boy.

Story
Pete is a lovable, energetic dog. He is almost 2 years old. He needs a home with a yard, and preferably someone who is home more often than not, with the patience to continue training him. He needs a home without cats. We do not know how he is with children or other dogs in the home, but there have been no issues with other short interactions. He likes to run and play and go for walks, but he also likes to hang out at home and snuggle once his energy is out. He is crate trained. He enjoys his peanut butter filled bones and apple yogurt treats. He’s been a wonderful dog, but he deserves a home where he can thrive.

Layla’s Compatibility:Dogs - Let’s do a meet & greet!Cats - Layla says no thank youKids - Yes, 10+Meet Layla! This beautiful German Shepherd girl is smart, loyal, and full of classic Shepherd personality. She likes meeting new people, enjoys her toys, and has a special talent for finding the squeaker and making sure it does not survive the day. A girl has hobbies!Layla has lived in a home, is housebroken, and knows how to be part of a family. She’s also a treat fan, especially when dental sticks are involved. Like many smart dogs, Layla has a few opinions. She was not a fan of the bathtub, but once staff figured out the tub was the problem and gave her a bath on the floor, she handled it much better. We respect a lady who knows what she likes!Layla’s best fit will be a cat-free home with kids 10 and up. She has lived with another dog before, so we’ll do a meet & greet here with any dogs in the home to help make sure everyone feels good about it.Layla is looking for someone who understands Shepherds and will love her for the smart, loyal girl she is. Come meet Layla at HSHC!
