Story
Pete is a lovable, energetic dog. He is almost 2 years old. He needs a home with a yard, and preferably someone who is home more often than not, with the patience to continue training him. He needs a home without cats. We do not know how he is with children or other dogs in the home, but there have been no issues with other short interactions. He likes to run and play and go for walks, but he also likes to hang out at home and snuggle once his energy is out. He is crate trained. He enjoys his peanut butter filled bones and apple yogurt treats. He’s been a wonderful dog, but he deserves a home where he can thrive.

Dogs - Let’s meet!Cats - Not a good fitKids - 16+Alaska is a stunning husky mix with the brightest eyes and a personality that just shines. He loves to be noticed and will happily soak up all your attention! Like many husky mixes, he is smart, active, independent, and not afraid to have opinions. He would love a home that provides regular exercise, mental enrichment, and a predictable routine. Walks, sniffing, training games, and adventures with his people would all be right up his alley.Alaska is a smart guy who has been practicing some very helpful skills here, including sit, leave it, take it, and kennel. Like a lot of dogs, he appreciates having space when he is enjoying meals or special treats, and he does best with people who can use a little teamwork instead of taking things away. Trading, routine, and respect for his space will help this handsome boy feel safe and successful. Because of this, Alaska is looking for a home with older kids, ages 16 and up.This handsome guy will also need regular brushing to keep his coat healthy and beautiful. Huskies are famous for their fluff, and Alaska is no exception. Think less “light shedding” and more “tiny snowstorm with legs.” Very cute, very worth it, but your vacuum should be prepared.Alaska would love a home without cats, but he’s happy to meet any dog friends you might have. He’s clever, charming, and just waiting for someone who loves a dog with lots of personality and a little extra fluff!

Story
Twilight is a 6 month old Siberian Husky/Carolina Dog mix. She was dropped off at IACS at 4 months old with a healing broken leg, a few broken teeth and severe dental issues that resulted in her having three teeth extracted. She was adopted in February by the neighbors of a coworker of mine who proceeded to either keeps her locked in a kennel inside that they wouldn’t clean out or keep her outside with no food or water outside of what my co worker was able to provide. About a month after she was adopted, she was dumped onto my coworker’s front lawn by her owner and kicked whenever she tried to go back to him. I have been fostering her since then, but have run out of time to be able to continue fostering her, due to my schedule keeping me from home for almost 10-12 hrs a day. She is a lovely, sassy little lady who loves playing, and attention, though is a bit nervous in new environments. She loves being outside, but will chase after any small creatures.

Story
Meet Budda (Boo-Duh) Budda is an energetic loving husky with a gentle heart and plenty of love to give. We rescued him when he was a newborn, and he has been a loving companion ever since. Budda is neutered and fully vaccinated (just due for his annual rabies shot), house-trained, and comfortable walking calmly on a leash. Friendly and affectionate and loves other dogs. He is skittish and shy with strangers but never aggressive. With our new baby, children and busy careers, we cannot give him the active, adventurous life he deserves. Budda would thrive in a home where he can enjoy long walks or outside time, playtime, and the attention he loves. He also loves food so be careful leaving the turkey on the counter. A few leashes and collars, Dog bed, crate and toys included.

Story
I have named this dog Honey because I had to call her something. She is ok with my dogs, but I took her for a meet and great at one home and their dog did not like her. She is skittish when people come over and barks and howls at them, but she sniffs their hands when they lower them to her nose. She is very loveable once she warms up. I have seen her around my grandson's and daughter's cats, and she seems disinterested in them, but I'm not 100% positive. She settles down whenever I sit or go to bed and she is not overly hyper. She just needs some loving care and training. I think a one dog home might be best for her at first, but she has met other dogs and been ok once they sniff each other.

Story
Balto’s Compatibility:Dogs: YesCats: Not a good fitKids: YesBalto is a 13 year old German Shepherd mix who is oh so sweet and very easy to love. He is in his golden years and has arthritis, so he moves a little slower these days and would love a home where he can be comfortable and take life at his own pace. Soft beds, cozy blankets, kind people, and treats are just his vibe.He has been very laid back with kids he has met here. He took treats from them gently, then happily watched whatever they were up to nearby. He also did well meeting other dogs and showed that he is playful, respectful, and very dog savvy. Balto may be a senior, but he still has a little bounce in him!Balto should be spending this part of his life in a home, not a shelter. If you are looking for a sweet older dog to love, come meet Balto.
