Story
Kylo is a 5 year old, neutered, sable German Shepherd.  He has a good GSD bloodline and is up to date on vaccinations. He is loyal, sweet, and smart. He has done some formal obedience classes and loves to walk and be outside. Kylo would do best in a home where he’s the only dog because he is reactive to other dogs. Someone with GSD experience and proper introductions would be beneficial if he’s going to live with another dog. Kylo comes from a loving, established home.

Zeppelin`s Compatibility:Dogs - Meet & greetCats - Per Zeppelin, feline free is the way to beKids - Prefers the company of adultsThis handsome German Shepherd is as silly as he is smart. He loves going for walks, showing off his tricks (sit, shake, and lay down are his favorites), and spending time with people he trusts. Once you’re part of his circle, he’s a total sweetheart who’ll lean in for pets and make you feel like his favorite person in the world.Zeppelin walks beautifully on leash and recently made friends with another polite pup here at the shelter. He enjoys exploring the outdoors and taking in all the sights and smells along the way. Zeppelin appreciates having his own space for meals and toys, so he’s hoping for an adult home that understands his independent streak. Give him love, structure, and a comfy crate to call his “home base,” and he’ll give you his loyal heart right back.Ready to meet a dog who’s equal parts smart, goofy, and loyal? Zeppelin can’t wait to say hello!

Story
This big bundle of energy will definitely keep his new family on their toes, both physically and metaphorically. Sergeant Valor "Sarge" was brought into ARPO's care after his initial owners felt he was too active for their current resident dog and lifestyle. This boy is a beautiful German Shepherd. With that said, he has all of the working breed tendencies. He currently keeps his foster mom laughing with his hilarious bunny hops around the house and constant need to talk and roll over onto his belly for attention. There is never a dull moment around Sarge, and he just wants to find a loving home to match his activity level. With that said, he will need someone patient to help with puppy training, as he is still very young. Additionally, Sarge is fully vetted. He is currently up to date on all required vaccines, dewormed, fecal tested, neutered, microchipped, and on monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website at arporescue.org to learn more about our adoption process and complete our adoption application. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.

Meet Luca!Born on April 18, 2025, Luca is a happy, social, and affectionate young pup whos ready to find his forever family! This sweet boy has never met a strangerhe is super friendly and gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, making him an excellent addition to a multi-pet home. Luca is already off to a great start in life: he has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on all his vaccinations. He is also crate trained, which makes him an easier transition into a new home. Luca is still a young dog and will benefit from continued general obedience training to help him grow into the best companion he can be. His ideal adopters would have a fenced-in yard where he can safely run, play, and burn off his puppy energy. If youre looking for a loving, playful, and affectionate companion whos eager to be part of a family, Luca may be your perfect match! Story
Ladybug is a 4yo shepherd mix who joined our family as a puppy when we adopted her from a hoarding situation. She is a fun, obedient, and affectionate dog. She enjoys exercise but does not need an excessive amount. She weighs about 60lbs. Although we love her, she has a tendency to bark and nip at our three young children anytime there is food in the area or when the kids encroach on her space (in her bed, etc). We have tried everything including medication, but issues persist. We feel for the safety of our kids and Ladybug's happiness, she would be much better off in a home with older kids who can understand her boundaries or no kids at all. She does ok with our older dog who is a similar size.

Story
Junior is almost 6 years old and is crate trained. He isn't neutered so not good with other dogs . Doesn't potty in the house but isn't left out of crate too long either so some extra work may be needed. I am now a single person that works 40 to 60 hours a week and can no longer give him the time he deserves. I feel with the right type of home and person he would be an excellent addition to a family or person. He is so lovable and just needs a chance to live a normal dog life. Instead of constantly being in a crate/ dog pin . I believe he would be good with kids although mine are grown he is so friendly and lovable ❤️. I believe he would make a good family dog. Please if interested 🙏 let me know . # Junior needs a forever home.

Story
Saved her from being put in a shelter. Been trying to rehome her for a bit, but she lacks social skills with other dogs and cats. She likes to play but tends to get rough/aggressive. She nips at hands, has tried to bite when angry or fills threatened, possibly due to previous owner caged her for 12-13 hours a day and was trying to make her into a guard dog. She’s not a bad dog, I would get her into training but my health is not well, I’m trying to get listed for a heart transplant and she is too much for me. She have better days when played with outside and taken for walks a couple times a day. If you’ve worked with animals, I really hope you’ll consider her. In the three months I’ve had her I’ve come to care for her. When no one else home she’ll lay at my feet, but then starts jumping on me when I get up and I also have balance issues. Please consider, she’s like this because of how previous owner was raising her. Don’t want to see her put down. Thank you

Story
Malibu is the best dog anyone can ask for. Very well mannered and smart. Low energy in the house, but plenty of energy to play like any other young pup when she’s outside. Rarely barks. No health issues. We are leaving the country for a year or longer and while we would love to take her with us, unfortunately, it’s not possible. We are looking for a new home for her. We have a bed and cage included
