Story
Application required-can be found at almosthomedogs.org. The description from Yuki's foster....I have affectionately nicknamed this little guy Hurricane Yuki. There is no chill pill to be pressed. He rolls like a crocodile with a prize piece of meat when you are trying to put his harness on. He has taken not one, but two collars off himself in the crate and chewed them up just to make a point. He comes when he feels like it and not before. He is a mastermind at attempted murder and will stop in front of you on walks no matter the speed, even when you are running with him to attempt to get his energy out. Fetch is merely a suggestion. He will chase the toy every single time but he may, or more likely may not bring the toy back. Little critters are on his list of things to chase, including cats. Your shoulder will get a workout after holding onto him as he attempts to chase down any critter or car that dares to pass him. If nothing is passing him by and he feels like walking along he is quite pleasant to walk. He could be a great companion for a slow jogger that doesn’t mind stopping every five feet for him to sniff. (all that means Yuki will need some training). He makes up for all the chaos he enjoys by being the absolute sweetest little guy. He LOVES to be loved on and will jump up with a big smile on his face for pets. He will zoom around the backyard with other dogs and loves playing chase with them. He will whine in his crate and reach his leg out but makes no attempts to tear up the crate and will settle down. It is also quite cute to see him watching TV as if he is a human. 30 pound 3-4 yr old male (neutered). UTD on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested. No known health issues. Really needs a fenced in yard as he likes to zoom and will chase anything with no regard for the humans trying to lure him back. Dogs: Great with other dogs. Loves to play chase. Does not react to barking/growling by other dogs. Please note-this breed is not for the first time dog owner. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org. Adoption Fee is $450. All of our dogs will be microchipped. We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment.

Story
Meet Hiro Meet Hiro, a truly lovable 3-year-old, 22 lbs Shiba Inu. His charisma is impossible to resist for dogs and humans alike making him the perfect compact companion – bright eyed, and full of heart. Hiro greets everyone he meets with enthusiasm, making friends in every situation. He’s wonderfully warm, ready to make new friends or charm a room with his gentle, affectionate nature. Hiro is a sensitive soul who forms deep bonds with his people very quickly. He thrives on companionship and wants nothing more than to curl up beside you at night. Because he feels safest when his humans are close, Hiro does best in a home where people are often around or in a dog-friendly environment. He’s comfortable in a crate for short periods of time but prefers to be close to his humans. Playful, curious, and spirited, Hiro will shine in a home ready to keep him active, engaged, and surrounded with love. If your looking for a loyal companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Hiro is ready to be your devoted shadow and lifelong friend. Please note-this breed is not for the first time dog owner. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Tank is bonded with Rusty, 10yo, weighs 50-60lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  Tank has free roam of the house during the day and sleeps on the couch or on his bed at night.  There are no issues with Tank during car rides.  He does, however, dislike/fear thunder/loud noises. Tank's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  Tank's current guardian is fostering him and Rusty and has been since she rescued them from an untenable living situation in December 2023.  Since their foster provider/guardian already has 2 dogs of her own, she must rehomed them, preferably together. Tank's guardian states the following regarding children:  Tank lives with children, ages birth to 7yo, so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Similar to Rusty, he likes to be petted but will typically the just relax/find his own spot". Tank's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Tank lives with dogs, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "While on walks, he's not too interested in other dogs.  If living in a house with other dogs, I would recommend calm dogs.  I have two small/more active dogs, and Tank doesn't like when they play". Tank's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Tank hasn't lived with cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Tank's guardian describes him as: Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Likes men Likes women Tank's guardian describes his ideal future home:   "Tank gets very excited to go outside, so I would love for him to have a fenced in yard in his forever home.  I would also really like to place Tank and Rusty together.  Tank gets a little anxious/nervous (it took about 3-4 weeks for him to get settled in my home), so a calmer home would be ideal. I would also love to keep in touch/could be a dog-sitter if/when needed." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Gambrills, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. Story
I’ve had Kip since he was old enough to be adopted he spent most of his life with me in the city so unfortunately didn’t get much interaction with kids or other animals and I believe that’s why he gets anxious around them. He will approach kids/other dogs but only if it’s on his terms otherwise, does not like kids or other dogs. He’s very playful and energetic, he also loves snuggles and being around people.

Story
Shilo is my name. Hebrew in origan, Shilo means “Tranquil or Peaceful One”. Right there says it all!    I ann initially Shy and Timid, due to being a breeder surrender and having little socialization with people.  While in Rescue, I’ve grown in personality, playfulness and trust through new experiences provided by a caring volunteer team.   At a healthy 6 years of age, about 30#, I still have spring in my step and like to play with other dogs. I also am calm, well-mannered and seem to be house trained. Heck, I don’t even bark! I am initially shy, hence the name Shilo, and it will take some patience and TLC for me to adjust to a new home and environment. We Shiba Inu’s were initially breed in Japan for hunting.  Just look at my photo, you see hues of Red, Golden, Orange, Chestnut and White with deep dark eyes. Our size and coloration make us look like a well-fed fox! With this said, a 4 foot fence will be required to adopt me for my safety. So, with all the said Positives about me, guess you can see why it’s a POSITIVE to adopt me.   No puppy stage and still years of love left on me. I’m Shilo, and I’m ready for the next chapter of my life! Are you? To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org.
