DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Tank is bonded with Rusty, 10yo, weighs 50-60lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  Tank has free roam of the house during the day and sleeps on the couch or on his bed at night.  There are no issues with Tank during car rides.  He does, however, dislike/fear thunder/loud noises. Tank's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  Tank's current guardian is fostering him and Rusty and has been since she rescued them from an untenable living situation in December 2023.  Since their foster provider/guardian already has 2 dogs of her own, she must rehomed them, preferably together. Tank's guardian states the following regarding children:  Tank lives with children, ages birth to 7yo, so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Similar to Rusty, he likes to be petted but will typically the just relax/find his own spot". Tank's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Tank lives with dogs, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "While on walks, he's not too interested in other dogs.  If living in a house with other dogs, I would recommend calm dogs.  I have two small/more active dogs, and Tank doesn't like when they play". Tank's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Tank hasn't lived with cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Tank's guardian describes him as: Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Likes men Likes women Tank's guardian describes his ideal future home:   "Tank gets very excited to go outside, so I would love for him to have a fenced in yard in his forever home.  I would also really like to place Tank and Rusty together.  Tank gets a little anxious/nervous (it took about 3-4 weeks for him to get settled in my home), so a calmer home would be ideal. I would also love to keep in touch/could be a dog-sitter if/when needed." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Gambrills, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. If you are interested in ADOPTING me, please CLICK HERE:  ADOPT ME 2. When your application is received, a Placement Manager will do a basic screening. Applications will be forwarded to the owner for further screening and continuation in the adoption process.  3. Please give us 48-72 hours for a Placement Manager to respond after you submit your application. If it has been longer than that, please email:  rescuewellrehome@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE: We provide ALL of the information we have on this pet, here on this page, in its entirety from the pet's owner. Story
Shilo is my name. Hebrew in origan, Shilo means “Tranquil or Peaceful One”. Right there says it all!     Said to be initially Shy and Timid, I had little socialization due to being a breeder surrender. While in Rescue, I’ve grown in personality, playfulness and trust through new experiences provided by a caring volunteer team.   At a healthy 6 years of age, about 25#, I still have spring in my step, like to go for walk, play with toys, other dogs, cats, kids and adults. I also am calm and well-mannered and completely house trained. Heck, I don’t even bark! Though many of my breed are aloft to people, give no affection, content to be independent and enjoy only their own company, I’m one of the few that are affectionate. After a day of play, I’m even good to Lay in YOUR LAP to give and take love! We Shiba Inu’s were initially breed in Japan for hunting.  Just look at my photo, you see hues of Red, Golden, Orange, Chestnut and White with deep dark eyes. Our size and coloration make us look like a well-fed fox! With this said, a 4 foot fence will be required to adopt me for my safety. So, with all the said Positives about me, guess you can see why it’s a POSITIVE to adopt a Mature Gal! No puppy stage, still years of love to give/take and ready to hit the road, trail or just lay around. I’m Shilo, and I’m ready for the next chapter of my life! Are you? To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Story
Smokey is a PRECIOUS “coyote pup” that we pulled from a local shelter and is ready for his forever home 🖤 If you give Smokey scratches, he will beg you for more. He loves attention and affection and will try his hardest to please you to earn more lovins! He is friendly with other dogs and people, and doesn’t pull on leash, making him a great walking or hiking buddy. 🏕️ This handsome boy is attentive, and quick learner. He is medium- energy, making him great for active lifestyles but also lazy when you need him to be! Once comfortable in his new home, Smokey may start to push some boundaries. For example, when left alone he may grab a shoe or the remote control. He's also not very comfortable with certain things, like getting into the car. With patience and positive reinforcement training, he is sure to overcome these mental barriers.🥰 Smokey knows the cues "sit" and "stay" but doesn't always respond, so he still needs some work on basic obedience. He is fully house trained! Smokey needs a forever home that will be patient with him and continue his training. He would also appreciate a semi-active lifestyle, regularly going on walks. He will do very well in a home with children and other dogs or being the only dog.🐶 If Smokey sounds like the one for you, please apply! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama, Pennsylvania and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
**Meet Tyson!** Tyson is a friendly and loyal companion who has been a beloved part of my family for nearly 13 years. As much as I adore him, my current 9-5 job leaves me with less time to give him the attention he deserves. Tyson is looking for a loving family to share his golden years with. If you're looking for a gentle and affectionate dog, Tyson could be the perfect addition to your home!

Story
If you’re looking for a dog to be your companion, Manny is a dancing, prancing little bundle of happiness and personality! He loves to chase balls, and he’ll even fetch for a while. He’d be an ideal companion for an outdoors-lover and could definitely excel in a multi-dog household.. Walks are great but Manny needs a yard where he can run around, ideally with a dog and a human playmate. Manny has spent many months in the company of a wide variety of dogs and is a favorite companion and playmate. The friendship continues inside when everyone relaxes and Manny grooms other dogs like he’s a cat. That’s Manny, a unique personality! Although Manny is fed in a crate and will often seek out his open crate to relax in, he’s had free-rein on the main level in his foster house. Not only is his house-training solid but he doesn’t destroy things that are not his; he owns many toys and chewables that he enjoys gnawing on. However, as with any dog in an unfamiliar home, Manny should be monitored carefully to be sure he has retained those in-home skills. Manny does seem to think he’s human sometimes and loves to balance and walk on his rear legs. He would benefit greatly from continued training on basic commands like come, sit and stay. Manny is very smart and gentle voice correction or redirection is very useful for him to learn your expectations. He’s also a very affectionate little dog with people and loves to cuddle with you. Grooming is a breeze with Manny’s short and sleek coat which only requires at-home brushing and washing. If you prefer less shedding inside your home, just increase coat brushing. If you would treasure this loving young dog and can commit to providing a forever-home where his health and happiness are priorities, please complete an application for Manny! My Profile Age: 1 year Weight: 15lbs Good with kids: yes Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Fenced yard: Yes Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: No House trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes but prefers short confinements Barks when left alone: Briefly Chews inappropriate items: No Training: Needs basic training Activity level: High Experienced: No Special needs: None Meet Me If you are interested in Manny, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org/adopt. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Manny will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.
