Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ruby! She is a tiny Shiba Inu, only two years old and weighs a mere 12 pounds! Ruby and her brother Hank came to us as their owners were unable to handle the antics of a Shiba. Ruby had a severe case of bladder stones and needed immediate surgery also. Ruby is a smart and active girl!  She is crate and leash trained, but her favorite thing to do is run and play in a fully fenced yard. She is generally house-trained, but when she had bladder stones, she used potty pads frequently, so she may need a little extra time to adjust. Ruby can be a bit of a character, and she loves to be the boss. She gets along well with other dogs, but she can be bossy and may try to bully them if she thinks she can get away with it. She is also curious about cats and doesn't show any signs of aggression towards them. Ruby can be an escape artist, so a fully fenced privacy yard is a must or frequent leashed walks. She has even climbed a chain-link fence before! Once she knows and trusts you, she won't try to escape, but we still recommend caution. For safety reasons, we'd prefer a home with older children and someone who has experience with Shiba Inu or Husky breeds. If you are looking for a fun-loving and adventurous companion, Ruby is the perfect girl for you! Ruby is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  She also had surgery to remove painful bladder stones.  Her adoption fee is $500  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 9, 2024, 7:52 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hank is ready for his new home!  Hanky Panky is a 2 year old Shiba Inu, he is 2 years old and 24 pounds.  Hank is a local dog that was surrendered with his sister Ruby - his owners were just not prepared for the antics of the Shiba breed!   Hank is an amazing dog that is very true to his breed characteristics.  He is super smart - wicked smart - and is always ready to learn.  Hank is friendly to people, he loves attention!  He has no issues with other dogs and doesn't mind cats.  He shows interest but only for fun.  Hank is leash trained and walks well on a leash.  He NEEDS daily walks to burn his energy.  He is also nicely crate trained!  Hank is smart and knows basic commands too - he is eager to please and would love to keep busy learning more things.  He is an affectionate and loving dog! True to his breed, Hank is an escape artist extraordinaire.  He is very agile and can easily jump 5 ft fences and can figure out how to get over 6 ft fences if given the opportunity.  Open gates and doors are not an option  - he will leave and not come when called.  For this reason, he will not be placed in a home with young kids.  Hank should be in a fenced yard on a tie out OR leash walked often for pottying and exercise.  No dog parks.  We need to keep this beautiful boy safe!  Please research the Shiba Inu breed if you are interested in adopting Hank.  If you have Shiba or Husky experience, that would be ideal.   Hank is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $500   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 9, 2024, 7:52 pm

Story
Meet Siru, our brave little fox! Siru is a heartwarming 3-4-year-old male Shiba Inu, weighing a petite 18 lbs. Last October, we rescued Siru and his friends from a horrible outdoor puppy mill in Jeongeop, Korea where the owner planned to sell his failing business to the dog meat trade. Siru's journey has been inspiring. He's slowly embracing his new surroundings and opening up daily. He walks outside with tentative curiosity, his tail wagging in quiet, less crowded spaces. These moments, though small, are huge victories for him. Siru's resilience shines through every step he takes. And at home, he's starting to find his rhythm. In the evenings he transforms, playfully rearranging his blankets and enjoying his toys, showing a glimpse of his spirited side. Siru's confidence is gently surfacing, and he's been bravely exploring his foster mom's inviting house. These moments fill our hearts, witnessing his transformation! Siru is ready to find a forever home where he can continue to flourish and reveal the loving, playful dog he's gradually becoming. Story
Note: Experienced applicants only, please! Hopkins is a friendly boy who loves exploring the world, naps, giving kisses, and cheese. He is equal parts adventurer and homebody; he does great on long walks/hikes, and excels at taking long naps. He likes going to parks to nibble on the grass, saying hi to people and dogs on walks, peanut butter, head and butt scratches, playing tug, and hanging out with you when we are home. He does not like getting wet, but he tolerates getting groomed. He likes to show he loves you by giving a kiss or cuddling up next to you. I am seeking to rehome Hopkins to an experienced owner who has the resources and time to work with a trainer to address resource-guarding behavior. He has made a lot of progress but requires professional help that I unfortunately cannot afford. He would do best in a home with an experienced owner and without other dogs or children until his resource guarding is fixed.

Story
** Current Location: in a local shelter in South Korea ** Rescue Story : Jinok was found on a street in Paju, South Korea at just two months old and taken to a high-risk shelter along with her five siblings. Right before euthanasia, they were saved by HDS Rescue, and later on, three of her siblings found their homes, while Jinok is still searching for her forever home. Jinok was lucky to have an opportunity to live in a foster home for about a year and a half from her puppyhood until Dec 2022 when she turned two. Since then, she has been living with numerous dogs in the crowded shelter, where there cannot be undivided love for her. Jinok still remembers how nice and lovely to have her home is. We hope she doesn’t forget that and gets another chance to live in a loving home again but permanently this time. Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Gentle Jinok is super friendly and full of sweetness! She thrives on love and affection, making her the perfect fit for anyone seeking a loyal and lovely fur soulmate. She would do better in a home with another furry companion. With Cats : Gentle with kitties With Dogs : She does well with other dogs. She was sent to a daycare regularly during the foster period, so she learned manners and how to socialize. With Adults/Kids : Good with adults including men / Unknown for kids Shedding : 5-7 Food Allergies : She may be a little allergic to chicken and grain according to her previous foster family, but this needs to be confirmed by a vet later. Walking Manner : Mostly gentle on a walk but gets excited about birds and other doggies. Housetrained : fully housebroken, going potty indoors (pee-pads) & outdoors whenever she was in the foster home. Bathing/Brushing : very good Separation Anxiety : She tends to have mild separation anxiety due to strong attachment to her people, so having another furry companion in a home would be beneficial for her to feel more comfortable and secure. Bark or Howl : No. Like & Dislike : One of her favorite things is just to be around her people, which is well known among the shelter staff and volunteers! Plus, she likes playing with balls! / She is not a fan of being left alone. Health : very healthy!
