I had my best 4 years with my mom and dad. Unfortunately, my new human sister came to this world and I need to make the ultimate sacrifice. My younger human sister will need full attention from my parents. I can’t blame them. I’ve been very good to my parents and loyal. I’m a self trained doggy and will never pee or poop inside the apartment. One thing you need to know about me being Shiba is I shed a lot. I just want to be transparent, I will miss my folks and I know they also want the best for my younger human sister. I’m a dog and I will survive. I’m just looking for someone who I can play with and hang out on my second chapter of my doggy life. I love walking outdoors and playing with tennis balls and it’s my favorite thing to do. I may not be good with other dogs but if they are neutered oh boy I love them. From time to time I’ll let you rub my tummy if that’s ok, don’t worry I don’t smell, I see my stylist and get groomed once a month.

Proper’s journey began with uncertainty. She was abandoned and left to wander the city streets before being picked up by animal control and brought to the shelter. In that overwhelming environment, she was understandably timid and cautious about being touched—unsure of who she could trust. Once Proper was given time, patience, and reassurance, her true self began to shine. She doesn’t rush into affection, but when approached gently and with respect, she opens up quickly and enjoys quiet, meaningful connection. Proper simply asks to be met where she is—and when she is, her trust is a beautiful thing to earn. Now thriving in a loving foster home, Proper has shown just how special she is. She is mellow, calm, and well-mannered, house trained, and walks nicely on leash. She coexists peacefully with dogs and cats, often content to mind her own business. However, she has exhibited some food-guarding behavior towards other dogs and should be fed alone and kept away from food prep areas if there's another dog in the home. Story

Mishka is a 4.5 year old black and tan Shiba Inu. She is very affectionate for a Shiba and loves to be with her people, snuggle in bed, play fetch in the yard, and go for hikes. Being a typical Shiba she does not like getting her nails trimmed, having flea med applied, or doing anything she decides she doesn't like lol. We have found work arounds using a sling for her nails and also a scratch board. Mishka is food aggressive and is fed alone and away from pets and people, she has never resource guarded with Nylabones, toys, or spaces in the house i.e couches/beds etc. She currently lives in a home with a doggy door and free access to a fenced in back yard and I think she would do best in a similar home. Mishka lives in a home with 2 adults and 1 child, 2 dogs and a cat. She has never been aggressive with humans but does have a bite history with the other animals she lives with, due to this she needs to be in a home as a only pet and does have a strong prey drive.
