This little man is cute as the dickens and thinks that he’s all that. He has no idea that he is in fact a “special needs“ guy. He has dry eye (keraconjunctivitis) for which he needs daily drops, he has a collapsing trachea which responds well to meds and he is prone to bladder stones for which he needs to be on a special diet. He did have an ugly mass removed from one of his paws that thankfully was benign and he had a large fatty lipoma on his abdomen that was removed. Sir is anywhere between 8 to 10 years old and he weighs about 12 lbs. For all that he has going on with him, he is one happy little camper! His adoption fee is $400.September 25, 2023, 10:20 pm

   This wonderful bonded pair is well overdue to find their forever home. Marlo and Iggy have been at the rescue most of their lives, more than 7 years, and certainly deserve a new home and parents to call their own. This dynamic duo is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and lively. After all these years at the rescue, Marlo and Iggy are still very happy and energetic dogs. They adore every minute of attention they receive. They love each other and play together so nicely. Both walk nicely on leashes and get along well with other dogs.             Marlo is a Shih Tzu, about 9 1/2-10 years old and about 10 pounds.  There is a very good reason why this adorable, beautiful Shih Tzu has been at the rescue for over 4 years. Geoffrey David is a special boy, who needs a special person to call his own. His behavior suggests he was abused from a very early age. When he arrived, this young boy was very untrusting and a defensive biter. We have patiently and consistently shown him love, care, and compassion, and he has been watching the other dogs happily embrace human attention and petting for years. All said, Geoffrey David has made remarkable improvements in his behavior. He is now happy and relaxed, seeks attention and enjoys being petted. There is a sweetness in him coming through. He is very camera shy, but has even begun to allow some videos.             We believe the right person is out there for Geoffrey David, who has experience with a similar type of dog. They must be patient, calm, and understanding, and willing to give him the time he needs to trust. Geoffrey David has his limits and will give a warning snap/bite if pushed beyond his comfort zone. He currently does not want to be picked up, held, or go for leash walks, although this could change with time. He will need a fenced yard. Geoffrey David enjoys the company of other nice dogs, and gets along great with his group at the rescue. He is now about 8 years old and 14 pounds. Mr Personality best describes our adorable Cobe. An 9 1/2  years old, 17 pounds, Shih Tzu boy, nothing keeps Cobe from loving life. Cobe was surrendered to us with one non-visual eye ( ? old injury or neglect), and one eye recent blinded by a rapid onset cataract. It was no surprise to find out Cobe has diabetes; what a shame his prior owners didn’t detect and treat him for this. He takes insulin twice daily with no problems and is doing extremely well. Potentially, he could be given sight by cataract surgery. Cobe is a very happy, well adjusted, very affectionate little guy. He loves other dogs and all people, as well as going for walks, getting belly rubs, and just sitting on your lap or being held. His love of life is contagious and endearing... all he wants is someone special to share it with. Could that special someone be you?
