Story
Hoping to to re-home my 4 year old Shih Tzu (mix?) dog, weighs approx 25 lbs, spayed, litter box trained (paper pellets), needs to be placed in a single dog home with no young children preferably with a female caretaker. She needs to be the center of attention and is a very loyal pup to her people. We are a multi dog household with frequent visits from other family members with dogs and unfortunately, she has developed a low tolerance and we can't take chances around our granddaughter.

Story
Lola is a beautiful shih tzu who was being surrendered by the only family she knew. They had horribly neglected her and allowed her eye infections to get so bad that her eyeballs ruptured. She was so matted and in so much pain. We stepped right in and got her to the vet and got the care she needed to remove her eyes, spay her and get her on the road to recovery. She felt better instantly and as soon as she was feeling great she got groomed and is just the most beautiful, sweet little girl. She's 11 pounds. TOTAL lovebug, hard to believe after what she's been through. Loves everyone and everything she meets. She navigates so well--probably ahd some practice being blind for a while before her surgery as her eyes were in such bad shape. She has her pretty bow on ready to travel north and will be ready to go to her forever home 7/29. Get your application in now!!! www.sunnypawsrescue.org

Story
Toby is looking for a low to medium-energy home. Toby found himself in rescue because his human mommy passed away, and his human daddy was not a dog person, nor was he in good health, so he surrendered Toby and his canine friend Snuggles to rescue (Snuggles is also available on our site)He acts like a much younger dog and likes to still play and romp around with his foster's other dogs. He is crate-trained and house-trained. He is very dog-friendly and mostly cat-friendly, but occasionally, he barks at the cat. Toby is now happy and feeling great. He had a dental cleaning and had some teeth extracted. He is getting a daily dose of drops for his dry eyes.He is affectionate and loving. Very treat motivated. No anxieties at all. He sleeps all night in his crate. He will bark when first put in his crate until you give him a treat! Once he gets his treat, he is happy and quiet. This intelligent boy knows he deserves a treat for going into his crate. If you have treats, Toby would love to move to your house. He promises to give you lots of love in exchange for the treats. .Name: Toby BoyBreed: Shih Tzu/CrossbreedSex: MaleAge: 8 years  (estimated)Weight: 14lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: SelectiveAdoption Fee: $350.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:   Texarkana Tx    IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Snuggles is looking for a home to live out his senior years. He is 11 years young. If it were not for his teeth, you would have guessed he was a much younger boy. He recently had a dental cleaning, some teeth extracted.Snuggles found himself in rescue because his mommy died and his daddy was not a dog person, nor was he in good health, so he surrendered Snuggles and his friend Toby to rescue (who is also available on our site) He is just the perfect little old man dog. He is quiet, housebroken, crate-trained, and cat- and dog-friendly, too. He hardly ever barks and greets everyone with a wagging tail. This sweet boy has no anxieties. He sleeps all night long in his crate without a peep. Snuggles would do well with a home that is less active and has a soft lap to lay in. He is low energy and loves his treats. He is curious, playful, and still has lots of love to give!Name: SnugglesBreed: Shih TzuSex: MaleAge: 11 years old (estimated)Weight: 15lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $350.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:   Texarkana Tx     IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Looking for a fun-loving, playful, toy-squeaking bundle of joy? Look no further than Wonky, our little baby hippo! He’s very dog-friendly, cat-friendly, kid-friendly—just a great all-around dog.Sweet Wonky came to us after his owner's passing, severely matted and had to be shaved down to the skin, so he was butt naked and looked like a baby hippo. Now, he has his hair back and looks more like the adorable Shih Tzu he is.Wonky LOVES any toy that squeaks and will play fetch, though he’s not too keen on bringing the toy back to you.He is crate trained and working on house training. Despite his small size, when Wonky barks, you’d swear you had a hound dog. It’s hilarious to see people’s reactions when they hear that big bark from such a little dog. Luckily, he doesn’t bark in the house or when crated—only outside when he hears other dogs.Wonky is looking for a low to medium energy household but definitely enjoys his outside playtime. If you’re looking for a quirky, lovable companion, Wonky is your guy!Name: WonkyBreed: Shih Tzu/CrossbreedSex: MaleAge: 4 years  (estimated)Weight: 19.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:   Texarkana Tx  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.
