Story
No, he's not a bobble head doll. We understand how the mistake could be made and agree that if he were a bobble head doll, he'd be a very cute one and we'd all need some version of the Arlo doll sitting on our dashboard and cheering us up with a wobble of his head whenever we get stuck in traffic. As it is, Arlo is a dog and unfortunately there's only one of him - which means only one family will be lucky enough to take him home and call him theirs. Arlo's slightly goofy fluffy-head-skinny-body groom came about as a result of severe matting that needed sedation and careful work by our vet team to resolve. He is a dog that will need regular grooming to prevent any future issues. The good news is that Arlo is looking and feeling better than ever and he's rocking this new haircut like it's the newest style. Arlo is very sweet, friendly, and playful with his people. He loves to roll around on the turf, romp about with his toys, and fall onto his back at the slightest hint that a belly rub might come his way. He can be a little shy around strangers and so would do best in an adult only home without too many visitors. Arlo hasn't had experience with other animals before, but he's up for meeting an resident dogs to see if it's a good fit for him. Arlo is in our special adoption program which sets adopters up for success with pre and post adoption counseling. If you are interested in Arlo, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and email Claire at cshamgochian@parl.org to schedule a meet and greet.

Story
Meet Nova! 🐾 Nova is an adorable 9-month-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix weighing just 14 pounds, and this little girl is proof that three legs are plenty! ❤️ Nova is incredibly sweet, cuddly, spunky, and full of personality. She has a fun-loving spirit and medium-to-higher energy, making her the perfect mix of snuggly companion and playful little sidekick. After an accident involving a lawnmower, Nova unfortunately had to have one of her back legs amputated. She recovered beautifully, though, and being a tripod doesn’t slow her down one bit! She runs, plays, and enjoys life just like any other happy puppy. Nova does great with kids, cats, and other dogs. She is also crate trained and housebroken, so she already has some pretty impressive manners for such a young girl. Nova is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find a forever family who will adore her as much as she deserves. 🏡💕

DOB 4-12-2025 Tashi is a gorgeous little guy that loves everyone, likes toys and playing with his little friends. Tashi would love to have his own home! He is neutered, heartworm negative, received his ProHeart6 injection and up to date on shots. He will come with a total history of his medical records Tashi's adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they are a wonderful transport and the only one we will use The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Winston is a sweet, loving 10-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighing about 15 pounds who is looking for a new forever home. He was adopted six years ago, but after his family experienced some significant losses, they ultimately realized they were no longer able to give Winston the attention and structure he needed.Winston is settling back into rescue life, and we’re getting to know him again. So far, he has been a very nice boy who enjoys his leash walks and being close to his people. He especially loves sitting on his human’s lap and being by their side. At times, he may be a little too eager to stay close and can become a bit of a “trip hazard,” but that’s just Winston’s way of saying, “I want to be wherever you are!”After spending the past six years as an only dog, he may do well with a calm, confident canine companion who won’t overwhelm him, but be there to help him stay calm. He has no issue being home without his human for a few hours.Winston does have some quirks that his new family will need to understand. He is leash reactive and can bark when he sees people or hears unfamiliar noises. Because of this, an apartment or condo environment would not be a good fit for him. His ideal home would be somewhere quieter, preferably with a yard, and with an adopter who is comfortable managing leash reactivity and continuing to work with him in a positive way.He does pull a bit on walks, but at 15 pounds, he is very manageable. And don’t let his age fool you! Winston is still an active little guy who enjoys getting out and exploring.Like many senior dogs, Winston may have some mild arthritis in his hind end, and he has been receiving monthly Librela injections to help keep him comfortable and moving well. He remains surprisingly active and enjoys his walks.Winston is looking for someone who will appreciate him for who he is: a loving, loyal little companion who wants to be near his person, enjoy his walks, and have a comfortable, peaceful place to call home.Winston would do best with:● A quieter home rather than an apartment or condo● Someone experienced or comfortable with leash-reactive dogs● A family who enjoys walks but understands his senior-dog needs● A patient adopter who will give him time to settle in● Potentially, a calm, compatible dog companionWinston has already had a few chapters in his life. Now he’s hoping for his final chapter: a loving forever home where he can relax, be spoiled, and spend his golden years right beside his favorite person. All known information about the animal is listed above. Meet Duke 💙 Must me Rhode Island adopter and apply on walkerswayrescue.com Phone conversation needed. Duke is a handsome senior Shih Tzu with a heart of gold and a gentle, loving personality. Super sweet and easygoing, Duke enjoys the simple things in life—a comfy bed, tasty meals, time outside, and being close to the people he loves. Duke has managed diabetes, and he's doing well with the routine care he needs. He's looking for a family that is comfortable continuing his treatment and understands that a little extra care is a small price to pay for such a wonderful companion. His insulin is very inexpensive and on only 7cc. Duke still have so much love to give and are hoping to spend his retirement surrounded by kindness, comfort, and a family to call his own.

FILENA **Currently Available for Adoption!** Good with Kids and Dogs! Meet Filena! 4 yrs./12 lb./Female/Shih Tzu Mix Name: Filena Age: 4 years Weight: 12 lbs Breed: Shih Tzu Mix Status: Looking for someone who sees perfection beyond appearances. ❤️ About Me: Hi! I'm Filena, and if you're looking for a little sidekick with a huge heart, I think we should meet. My story didn't start the way every dog deserves. I was overlooked because I have one blind eye and mammary tumors from never being spayed. But here's the funny thing... none of that has ever stopped me from living life with a wagging tail and a joyful heart. I'm happy, affectionate, and always ready to be part of whatever you're doing. Whether we're going for a walk, running errands, or settling in for a cozy evening on the couch, I'll happily be your little shadow. I don't dwell on the past—I simply wake up each day excited for whatever comes next. I'm not looking for someone to feel sorry for me. I'm looking for someone who sees me for who I am: a lovable little terrier with so much life, love, and companionship to give. Best Qualities Sweet, cheerful, and full of personality The perfect pint-sized companion at just 12 pounds Loves being close to her people Resilient, affectionate, and ready for her fresh start Ideal Match Someone with a kind heart who understands that every dog deserves to be loved—not because they're perfect, but because they're perfectly themselves. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will remind you every day that joy isn't about having a perfect life, but about making the most of it, I just might be your girl. Deal Breakers Looking for "perfect" instead of perfectly lovable. Believing a disability defines a dog's worth. Not planning on making me part of the family forever. Fun Fact: I may only have one working eye, but I can spot a kind heart from a mile away.
