Story
Shea Buttah is originally from New York and is now in Everett, MA. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old. She is very sweet, shy and sometimes gets nervous around new people until she warms up to you. She loves to play with her favorite plush toys and rubber balls. She truly was a highlight in our home. Our situation has changed and we are now expecting a child. We want a loving person to take her so she can be cared for and spoiled. She is a house dog however she does enjoy occasional outing when the weather is nice.

Story
🐾 Meet Robin – The Ultimate Gentle Companion 💙 Robin is the kind of dog who just wants to be with his people. Sweet, easygoing, and deeply affectionate, he’s happiest curled up in a lap, cuddled next to you on the couch, or quietly following his family from room to room. He has a calm, low-energy nature that makes him a wonderful fit for a relaxed household. Robin does beautifully with other dogs, happily sharing space and settling in alongside them. He’s also great with cats—respectful, gentle, and even known to enjoy a cozy cuddle now and then. And when it comes to kids? Robin adores them, especially teens and older children, soaking up attention and affection wherever he can. Because he loves his people so much, Robin can be a little extra “attached.” He does best in a home where someone is around most of the time or where he has a canine buddy to keep him company. With a predictable routine and reassurance, he settles well and feels secure. Robin is doing great with his potty training and continuing to improve with consistency and regular potty breaks. With patience and a loving routine, he’ll keep making progress. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, low-key companion who just wants to be part of the family (and maybe sit a little closer than most), Robin may be your perfect match. He’s ready to give his whole heart to a forever home. 💕🐶

Story
Meet Mister 💙 Mister is a small dog with a big heart who is just beginning to discover how wonderful life can be. He came to us severely matted, but after a much-needed makeover and lots of care, he’s feeling so much better and ready to start his next chapter. Mister has made remarkable progress with us and has truly surprised staff and volunteers with how quickly his confidence has grown. He can still be nervous when meeting new people or facing unfamiliar situations, but with patience, predictability, and gentle encouragement, he warms up and shows just how resilient he is. Because of his past, Mister is looking for a dog-experienced home. He can be unsure about handling and does exhibit some resource guarding, particularly around items he values. For this reason, Mister would do best in a home with teens and older children who can respect his space and understand his signals. Treats and toys are the way to Mister’s heart. He especially loves his stuffies and has been having a blast pouncing on them in the snow and tossing them in the air. These simple joys have helped him build trust and learn that people can be kind, fun, and safe. Once he’s comfortable, Mister reveals himself to be an active, playful, and very cuddly little guy who loves being close to his people. Mister would do best in a home without cats. Mister needs a home willing to give him the time, structure, and support he needs to continue blossoming. In return, he’ll offer deep loyalty, growing confidence, and a truly special bond.

Story
Panni - Please be sure to read Medical Notes below.A 3 1/3 year old girl who is truly lovely - her momma's family raves about her - she's calm, happy to be a lap dog, but can also be playful. Her mom's daughter reached out to Paws New England because her elderly mom was unable to properly care for Panni (see below re: IMHA). She has required medications for her IMHA condition, and it was not always possible for her mom to remember to give the medications.Panni just arrived at our foster home today, and so far she's doing quite well - obviously a little confused, so we will be watching her for the next week or so to get a real feeling for her personality and needs. She's ignoring the cat (who almost looks to be her size) and is doing quite well with the other dogs in the home. She'd be an amazing friend for someone who likes a do on their lap!! If you think you may be interested in this adorable fluff ball, feel free to apply now, and as we learn more about her, we can most certainly keep you updated. Medical Note for Panni: IMHAPanni has a condition called immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA). The good news is that she has responded remarkably well to treatment, which consists of two pills twice a day. The vet is currently working to wean her off this medication, as she is doing so well.IMHA is an autoimmune condition where the body mistakenly attacks its own red blood cells. While this is a serious diagnosis, many dogs go on to live happy, full lives after treatment. There is a small chance (about 10–15%) that it could return, so her future family should be attentive to any changes and seek veterinary care right away if concerns arise.Panni is feeling great right now and is ready to enjoy life in a loving, committed home that understands her medical history and will continue to monitor her health.More info on IMHA: https://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/cardiovascular/imha-immune-mediated-hemolytic-anemia-dogsMedications for her condition are not exorbitant - approx. $50 per month when needed. if needed, Paws NE woud be willing to assist with medication purchase.Name: PanniBreed: Shih TzuSex: FemaleAge: 3 1/2 years  (estimated)Weight: 17 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00Location of dog currently:    Near Boston, MA (South Shore)IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if needed.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
